Today’s reading: Psalms 43:3

“Send out Your Light and Your Truth”

We read in Psalms 43:3:

3 Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.

Part of our prayers should be asking for God’s light and truth. These things don’t originate in us. They should come from God.

In a world filled with darkness, we must always look to God for His light. His light will illuminate the dark areas in our lives. It enlightens us. It shows the path we should take. It leads us to God’s holy hill and tabernacle.

In a world filled with lies, we must also ask for God’s truth. It’s sad how we are all bombarded with a mixture of false and truth to the point that it is difficult to tell them apart. That’s why we need Yahweh’s help. It is only Him who can give us the pure and absolute truth.

David didn’t stop by just asking for God’s light and truth. He also prayed that these things would lead and bring him to God’s presence.

As you can imagine, it’s tough to go through this life without light and truth. Have you tried walking through a dark place? How about going through social media posts and not knowing which of them say the truth.

So, the next time you talk to God, pray for His light and truth.
