📅 Be courageous – Daily Bible Reading

Today’s reading: Joshua 1:9

Be courageous

We read in Joshua 1:9:

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

For Israel, losing a great leader such as Moses wasn’t easy. It was a great discouragement to them. For forty years, Moses served as their physical leader. Thus, when Moses was gone, people were discouraged.

How discouraged? They were so discouraged that just in Chapter 1 of Joshua, we read how Yahweh repeated “Be strong and good courage” three times!

In our modern times, it is easier to be discouraged than to be encouraged.

As we look around us, there are a million reasons to be discouraged. From our personal life to the global scene, we can just see how discouraging life is!

However, I want you to remember and realize how God delivered Israel and how He fulfilled His promises. The same God is working with each one of us. If He has kept His word with Israel, how much more would He keep His promise to us, His people?

Surely, there’s no reason good enough for us to be discouraged.

Having Yahweh in your life is more than enough for all of us to stay courageous!
