We read in Hebrews 2:10:
10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Have you ever wondered why Yahshua or popularly known as Jesus Christ was called the captain of our salvation?
Why isn’t he called the general, admiral, or any other titles ore superior than a captain?
Calling Christ as our captain is significant because it signifies how he is among us. You see, a captain is someone who leads a group by actually and being physically with them.
Unlike other military ranks, they stay in offices, bunkers, or any place away from the place of actual action.
A captain is someone who goes together with his team.
This tells us that Christ is someone who leads by example. He leads with closeness. He leads at a personal level.
There are other reasons why Christ was called the captain of our salvation. But for now, that’s the lesson I want to share with you.
Video of the week
A lot of people believe that once a person dies, that person’s soul will roam around on the earth. As a result, these dead people could still talk to the living and even make their presence felt. However, is that what the Bible says?
