📅 Things will get worse – Daily Bible Reading

March 14, 2022

Today’s reading: Exodus 5:6-9

We read in Exodus 5:6-9

6 So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying, 7 “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. 8 And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ 9 Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words.”

God commanded Moses to meet Pharaoh. However, their first encounter wasn’t something that Moses expected.

Sometimes, we get to experience persecution and difficulties in following God.

It’s quite interesting how Moses might have felt when instead of letting the Hebrews go, Pharaoh made their job even heavier!

Not only that but Moses is now the target of ridicule and hate among his people. Instead of making things better, things got worse!

This is also true in our time today.

Things will definitely get worse and worse before the glorious return of Yahshua (Jesus).

We are wars and rumors of wars, famine, pandemic, corruption, chaos, hunger, and so much more.

The Bible even tells that there will be a great tribulation that is so deadly that no one will be saved alive unless those days will be shortened (Matthew 24).

However, don’t fret and lose hope.

Sufferings and difficulties are prophesied to happen.

But like a woman in labor, all pain and suffering will be gone once the new birth of God’s reign starts.

So, don’t be discouraged if you get punished for doing what’s right.

Yes, things will get worse, but like in the story of Moses, God will deliver us.
