Today’s reading: Psalms 12:3-4

Use your body to worship God

We read in Psalms 12:3-4:

3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips,
And the tongue that speaks proud things,

4 Who have said,
“With our tongue we will prevail;
Our lips are our own;
Who is lord over us?”

This verse stood out for me. I have heard people saying, “It’s my mouth. I can say whatever I want to say.” Thus, they justify their cussing. They speak evil, immorality, and disgusting things.

In their pride, they boast about how they have the right to use their body in any way they want or live their life as they please.

The Bible tells us that we are actually not of our own. Once we have surrendered our life to God, we would put our bodies in subjection to Him.

All that we are now, every part of our body, all of our being — all should be used in the glory of Yahweh.

We don’t simply live for ourselves. We live for God.
