📅 You can’t please everyone – Daily Bible Reading

June 3, 2022

Today’s reading: Luke 7:33-35

YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

We read in Luke 7:33-35:

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ 35 But wisdom is justified by all her children.”

People will always have something bad to say. We see here how John the Immerser came not to eat and drink and people criticize him for that. Now, we see that Yahshua came to eat and drink and people still criticize him!

If you spend your time and energy pleasing people, you will ultimately fail. Nothing you do will ever satisfy them. You can’t simply please everyone all at the same time.

However, do you know what’s more important? It is pleasing Yahweh.

As long as you do what is right, follow God’s commandments, and do His will in your life, it doesn’t matter anymore whether people are pleased or not.

What matters most is what God says and not what people say.
