Do you know that there is more than one heaven mentioned in the Bible? This might surprise you but the truth written down in your Bible is that there are three types of heaven. In the Genesis account, it is mentioned that “In the beginning, God created the heavens {plural} and the earth”. This subject deserves a second look. Join us now as we examine biblical accounts that address this issue.
Third Heaven: God’s Throne
The third heaven as we can see in the Bible is used to refer to GOD’S THRONE. We read in Deuteronomy 26:15 this statement: “Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which though hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.” In this verse e can see that God’s dwelling place is directly called as heaven.
Another verse which shows us a third heaven is II Corinthians 12:2 which say, “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago… such an one caught up to the third heaven.”
Second Heaven: Outer Space
The second heaven referred in the Bible is the OUTER SPACE. King David contemplated on this second heaven in Psalm 8:3, “when I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained.”
Other scriptures that refer to the outer space as the second heaven is found in the following verses:
“And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;” Genesis 26:4.
“The Lord your God hath multiplied you, and behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude” (Deuteronomy 1:10).
“For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine” (Isaiah 13:10).
First Heaven: Earth’s Atmosphere
The first heaven is our dwelling place. It involves from the sky to the earth’s crust. During the great flood, the Bible said this, “The windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was on the earth forty days and fort nights” *Genesis 7:11-12.
In addition to this, read the following.
“Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?” (Job 35:11).
“… they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth” (Jeremiah 16:4).
Conclusion
Now that we have seen the three types of heaven, make sure what heaven is referred to within the context. Sometimes, some people mistakenly thought that people went to heaven when they die because of the wrong assumption of the immortal soul. When we read the bible, this is never the case. To prove all things and you will eventually be freed by the truth written in the Bible.

Hi Joshua,
There’s a little mistake there.
According to general Christian teaching, the first heaven is the earth’s atmosphere and outer space – all that we see.
The second is the invisible Satan’s HQ, where he and his most wicked angels reside.
The third is correctly God’s abode

Hi John,
I believe there is no single scripture to support that the “The second [heaven] is the invisible Satan’s HQ, where he and his most wicked angels reside.”

Hello Joshua,
see Daniel 10:10-13 to confirm the 2nd heaven’s existence; where the spiritual powers reside

Hi Esua,
This is the verse:
10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.
I’m not sure where the second heaven was mentioned.

There is no air in the second heavens (outer space). So the Prince of the Power of the air has to mean this world doesnt it? Eph 2:2.
