Today’s reading: Exodus 24:17
Miracles are not enough
We read in Exodus 24:17:
“The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.”
Today, a lot of people want miracles to prove God’s existence. To want to witness supernatural phenomena to believe.
However, if there’s one thing we can learn from the Israelites, it is this:
Miracles don’t guarantee faith.
The Israelites saw the most spectacular, impressive, and earth-shaking miracles wrought by God. However, we can see how they repeatedly broke their covenant with God.
If we have eyes to see, our everyday existence is filled with miracles. There are countless pieces of proof of God’s existence.
