Genesis 3:19 – The Most Humbling Statement in the Bible

Do you know that pride is a great enemy for many Christians? So, how can we overcome pride? Here’s how: by reminding ourselves of Genesis 3:19. Read on to learn more!

Pride is no doubt one of the deadliest sins that could ever affect your spiritual life.

Pride is the reason for the many wars in the world, both in the past and in the present.

Pride has destroyed a lot of relationships, careers, and even health.

Pride is so deadly that in most cases, every person is blind to their own pride.

They don’t know that they have pride unless someone points it out to them or the Almighty shows it to them.

Pride is present in almost all aspects of our lives.

It is present when we are successful.

It is present when we fail.

It blinds us of who we truly are.

It makes us look down on others and belittle their achievements.

However, there’s one particular verse in the Bible that we must always remind ourselves with.

Every time you feel like being arrogant and boastful, you need to remember this one specific verse.

It will soon put things into its proper perspective.

What is this verse? It’s found in the later verse of Genesis 3:19.

What does it say?

It says, “For dust you are and to dust you shall return.”

Did you grasp that my friend?

You and I are made of dust.

We are actually nothing.

We are actually made of dirt.

Yes, the same dirt that we are all stepping on – the same dirt that we tend to ignore and sweep away.

Have you ever thought about that?

Whatever we have accomplished in this life, no matter how rich you are, how much money you have in the bank account, no matter how many possessions you have, no matter how beautiful or handsome you are, no matter how educated and successful you are, it doesn’t change the fact that you are still made of dust and dirt.

So, don’t ever think that you are better than others.

Don’t ever belittle others, feel arrogant, and proud of your beauty, strength, position, and richness.

Why?

For dust you are and to dust you shall return.

No matter how successful you are in this life, if you don’t have God in your life, all these things are nothing.

Don’t ever forget, you are nothing apart from God.

But for God, you are someone whom He cares about, whom he loves.

Live your life in humility, not in pride because in the final analysis, we are all just a tiny dot in this vast universe.

Be humble and God will exalt you in due time.
