“Why Did God Make Me Gay?”

Let’s get straight to it.

A lot of people ask, “Why did God make me gay?”
And you might be surprised by my answer:

God didn’t make anyone gay — but that doesn’t mean He’s done with you.

I know that goes against what culture says, but hear me out.
I’m not here to attack you.
I’m not here to argue with you.
I’m here to talk to you the way I’d talk to a friend.

A Real Question, Not a Debate

When someone says, “Why did God make me gay?”
They’re usually not looking for a fight.

They’re looking for clarity.
They’re looking for comfort.
They’re trying to make sense of what they feel.

And that’s fair.
Every one of us has asked God some form of:
“Why am I like this?”

Different struggles, same question.

The Bible Gives Us a Starting Point

The Bible teaches that all of us are born into a world that’s already broken.
That means our desires, emotions, and instincts don’t always line up with God’s design.

Psalm 51:5 says,
“Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity…” (NKJV)

In other words:
We’re all born with things in us that God didn’t put there.

That’s not a statement of shame.
It’s simply reality.

Your struggle might be same-sex attraction.
Someone else’s might be anger.
Another person’s might be addiction or pride.

Different battles.
Same human condition.

So No — God Didn’t Create You Gay

If God purposely designed you with desires that go against His Word, that would make Him unfair.
And He’s not.

Scripture is clear that temptation doesn’t come from God.

James 1:13 says,
“…for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” (NKJV)

So if God didn’t create those desires, then where do they come from?

From living in a world affected by sin.
From internal struggles.
From wounds, experiences, shaping influences, and brokenness that we all carry in different ways.

But here’s the important part:

What you feel is not who you are.

Your Identity Isn’t Locked Into Your Feelings

A lot of people assume temptation equals identity.
But that’s not true.

Temptation isn’t sin; it’s an invitation to choose.

You don’t have to build your identity around what you’re drawn to.
And you’re not defined by your weakest moments or strongest feelings.

Your identity is found in the One who made you, not in the desires you wrestle with.

Here’s the Good News

If God didn’t make you gay, it means you’re not trapped.

You’re not hopeless.
You’re not stuck with a label that decides the rest of your life.

There is room to grow.
Room to change.
Room to heal.
Room to follow God step by step, even with the tension you feel inside.

God meets you where you are, but He doesn’t leave you there.

Revelation 21:5 says,
“Behold, I make all things new.” (NKJV)

That includes you.
Your thoughts.
Your desires.
Your identity.
Your future.

This Isn’t About Condemning You

This isn’t about shaming anyone.
This is about giving a clear, biblical answer mixed with real hope.

Jesus didn’t come to label you.
He came to restore you.

He didn’t come to tell you you’re stuck.
He came to open a new path.

And that path is open to anyone — including you.

You Are Deeply Loved by God

Before anything else, please hear this:

God loves you. Fully. Completely. Without hesitation.

Your struggle doesn’t scare Him.
Your questions don’t offend Him.
Your story doesn’t push Him away.

He knows you.
He sees you.
He cares for you.

And He wants to walk with you, not against you.

Final Thought Before You Click Away

Asking, “Why did God make me gay?” is not the end of the conversation.
It’s the beginning.

Because if He didn’t create you that way…
then there’s hope.
There’s direction.
There’s purpose.
There’s a way forward — and God is willing to lead you through it.

You’re not alone.
And you’re not beyond God’s reach.
Not even close.
