5 Biblical Lessons We Learn From the Death of Charlie Kirk

The news is shocking. On September 10, 2025, conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University.

What was supposed to be a moment of open debate turned into a nightmare as his life was taken in an instant.

He was only 31 years old.

No matter your political leanings, this is a tragedy that goes beyond parties and ideologies.

It strikes at the very heart of our humanity.

And as believers, we can’t just scroll past this story—we must reflect, learn, and remember what God has to say about moments like this.

Here are five powerful lessons we learn from the death of Charlie Kirk:

1. Violence Is Evil—Period

The Bible is clear: “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13, NKJV).

Murder isn’t just a crime against another person; it’s rebellion against God, who gave life.

Violence is never a solution.

No political disagreement, no personal offense, no social conflict can ever justify taking another person’s life.

Charlie’s death is a stark reminder that violence is the fruit of a society that has turned its back on God.

2. Every Life Bears the Image of God

Scripture tells us, “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man” (Genesis 9:6, NKJV).

Every human life, regardless of political affiliation, race, or creed, reflects the image of our Creator.

To murder is to attack that image.

Charlie Kirk wasn’t just a public figure—he was a husband, a father, and most importantly, a man made in the likeness of God.

3. Darkness Always Tries to Silence the Truth

When truth is spoken boldly, evil often lashes out.

Charlie’s death is another reminder that we live in a time when voices are silenced not by debate but by force.

Yet John 1:5 reminds us, “And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (NKJV).

The truth cannot be permanently silenced.

Even in this tragedy, light continues to shine, and the message of truth continues to spread.

4. We Must Be Peacemakers in a Violent World

Yahshua said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9, NKJV).

If we truly want to honor lives cut short by violence, then we must rise above hatred and revenge.

We can’t fight fire with fire.

We are called to bring peace, to love our enemies, and to show the world a better way—the way of Christ.

5. Evil Will Not Have the Final Say

The apostle Paul encourages us: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21, NKJV).

The death of Charlie Kirk is tragic, but it is not the end of the story.

Evil may roar for a time, but justice and truth belong to God.

As Christians, we hold to the hope that Yahshua has already conquered sin and death, and that His justice will prevail.
