Is it wrong to judge other people? [1-minute video]

Transcript

You probably have heard people saying, “Don’t judge others” or “Who are you to judge?” They will be quick to quote, Matthew 7:1, which says, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” The problem is that most people simply stop in verse 1. If you read Matthew 7:1-5, you’ll learn that the main point of Yahshua or Jesus Christ is to judge yourself first before judging others. He is telling us to remove the plank from our own eye so that we can remove the speck from our brother’s eye.

In John 7:24, we read:

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

Thus, we are to judge others with righteous judgment. It means that we are to judge others based on God’s standards and not our own standards. Now, we need to be clear, judging is different from condemning. It is God’s job to pronounce the final judgment and not us.
