Do animals have a soul? [1-minute video]

Transcript

You just lost your beloved dog and you wondered, “Do they have souls and go to heaven?” Well, let’s see what the Bible says. We read in Genesis 1:24:

“And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”

If you look into the original Hebrew of the word creature in this verse, it is nephesh, which is the Hebrew word for the English word, soul.

The living creatures in Genesis 1:24 refers to animals and that includes your dog. This tells us that animals are considered as a soul. Their physical body is called soul but they don’t have a soul.

Soul refers to the physical body that dies. It is not actually a spirit that lives on after death.
