Today’s reading: Romans 1:21-22

“Although they knew God”

We read in Romans 1:21-22:

Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools.

For a person who refuses to accept God’s existence, there’s no amount of evidence that could change his mind. No matter how hard you try to convince a man, as long as he willfully refuses to see, he will surely reject proof. Combined with Satan’s deception in this world, we see the majority of people who would simply ignore God and His commandments.

What the Apostle Paul wrote thousands of years ago accurately describes our times today. A lot of people strongly believe that they are right. They believe that they are wise and they don’t want anyone telling them what to do and not what to do.

As a result, people who thought of themselves as wise are actually fools. They look at the grandeur and beauty of the entire universe and yet, they reject God as the Creator. They would rather believe that all things came to being from a rock and soup.

God has revealed Himself to us. Once we know Him, we are given two choices: we either acknowledge God and glorify Him or we ignore Him and decide for ourselves what we should do.

Millions of people have chosen the second option. As a result, we see a chaotic and messed-up world. In a world full of foolish people with their hearts darkened, it is not difficult to see where this world is heading.

We are now seeing the consequences of rejecting God. Humanity as a whole is suffering because of rebellion against the Most High.

Thankfully, the Almighty will send back His Son on earth to directly intervene and save us from ourselves. With God’s plan of salvation, human beings still have a bright future.
