Can you really trust your pastor?

Mainstream Christianity today is nowhere close to the Christianity according to the Bible.

As a matter of fact, Jesus Christ (Yahshua the Messiah) is gravely misrepresented today and reduced His teaching of the coming Kingdom of God to a mere saved-by-grace doctrine that claims “all you have to do is to believe in Christ and you’ll be saved”.

You might check with your Bible the next time your pastor tells you something. You will be surprised that you have been fooled.

In this post, let us take a look at some of the biggest lies your pastor might have already told you.

10 Biggest Lies Your Pastor Probably Had Told You

Lie number 1: you will go to heaven when you die as a righteous person

This is among the most popular teachings pastors preach in their pulpit. You might be surprised, but this teaching was never rooted from the Bible, but actually came from pagan teachings.

In contrast, here’s what Jesus has to say:

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven” (John 3:13).

So who lied? Your pastor or Jesus Christ? The answer should be obvious by now.

Lie number 2: the incorrigibly wicked people will be burned forever in the lake of fire

Do you really believe that an all-loving and merciful God will burn people forever in the lake of fire?

If this is the case, even the saved will not be happy to see their loved ones ever burning in hell. Imagine that. Thankfully, what your pastor said is a BIG lie. The Bible reveals that the death of unrepentant humans will be quick and instant.

“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall BURN THEM UP, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness… And ye shall tread down the wicked; FOR THEY SHALL BE ASHES UNDER THE SOLES OF YOUR FEET in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts (Malachi 4:1-3).

Lie number 3: Sunday is the day of worship

From Genesis to Revelation, you will never find even a single verse that transfers the sanctity of the seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday.

Even the biggest Sunday-keeping churches today will readily admit that Sunday is the first day of the week and it was man and not God who inspired the change. Sunday isn’t the worship day for Christians. There are numerous instances that Jesus, the apostles, gentiles, and all the people of God kept the Saturday Sabbath and never Sunday.

This one is just an example.

“And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. And the next sabbath day came ALMOST THE WHOLE CITY TOGETHER to hear the word of God” (Acts 13:42,44).

Lie number 4: You’re under grace, so you don’t have to follow the Law

This is a big subject, but let me just prove to you that this is wrong with just a few words.

First of all, we don’t deserve God’s forgiveness and no matter what we do, we are doomed to eternal death. However, because of God’s grace, you can now be saved.

But this does not mean that you can already break God’s commandments. God expects His followers to keep His Law. Here are a few verses to support this.

  • “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:17-19).
  • Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone (James 2:17).
  • “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that KEEP the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12).

Lie number 5: You have an immortal soul

Odd enough, the doctrine of immortal soul came from the ancient pagans who thought that after a person dies, his consciousness will still be around haunting people.

Nothing can be farther from the truth.

The soul that sinneth, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20).

Lie number 6: Jesus was born on December 25

The Bible is silent when it comes to the exact date of Jesus’ birth. God or Jesus, even never commanded Christians to celebrate it.

The scripture reveals that Jesus’ birth is nowhere near during the dead cold winter. The Gospel account showed that there are shepherds out in the field during Christ’s birth (Luke 2:8). Even the Roman government will never order for a census to happen on winter (Luke 2:2).

Thus, you shouldn’t be surprised to know that a growing number of Christians today are not celebrating Christmas.

Lie number 7: God is represented by the Trinity

Most Christians believe the doctrine of Trinity. They claim that one cannot be a Christian without embracing its teachings.

Well, sorry to say this but Christians should check their Bible to see if the word “Trinity” or even its concept is found in the Bible.

The Holy Spirit is never mentioned when a vision of God’s truth is mentioned in the book of Daniel, Revelation, the Gospel or any book of the Bible. In addition to this, Paul NEVER mentioned the Holy Spirit in his greetings to the churches.

I know this is a huge topic. Thus, you need to request your free copy of Is God Trinity to learn more.

Lie number 8: You’re already born again

According to most Christians, the concept of “born again” involves a dramatic change in person’s life that led to following God’s commandment.

However, this is far from what the Bible describes as being born again. Jesus Himself said that a person is born again if he is already a spirit being.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: SO IS EVERY ONE THAT IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT (John 3:5-8).

Lie number 9: God is saving all of mankind today

If God’s main mission during this lifetime is to save all of humanity, then He is utterly a complete failure.

As you look at the world today, there are billions of people who aren’t Christians. Will all of them go to hell? Not only that, but even the Christian world is confused and many denominations and groups claiming conflicting doctrines and beliefs.

Imagine the billions of people who have lived and died but never had the chance to hear the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God.

Will they be forever lost?

God is not willing for anyone to perish (II Peter 3:9). The truth is that God is calling a select few during this lifetime and call more people as He establishes His Kingdom here on earth. Ezekiel 37:1-14 proves that people will be resurrected and given a chance to choose between life and death.

Lie number 10: All you need to do is love God and other people

While this lie has some truth in it, it’s not the whole truth. The way most Christians understand this is too superficial. They love God and their fellow according to their own definitions of what love is while ignoring how God defines love.

If you truly want to love God, then you have to love Him under His own terms. You cannot love God without keeping His commandments. Love is more than just a fuzzy and warm feeling towards Him or to other people.

So how does the Bible defines love?

For this is the love of God, that we KEEP his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (I John 5:3).

You can’t simply separate loving God and doing His commandments. It never worked that way. If you want to show your love to God, then you need to follow His will and purpose in your life.

Conclusion

I know each of these lies are really a huge subject and I honestly admit that this post is not enough to explain all of them.

Nevertheless, I firmly believe that it will give you a quick glimpse of how Satan successful perverted and twisted modern Christianity. Jesus said that if you want to worship Him and God, then you need to worship Him in TRUTH and in SPIRIT (John 4:24). 1. Ok. So you have your opinion. That is apparent, but the question should be, what lies has the bible told you.

Yes, I am a Christian and have been for 22 years. I used to be just like you, worried constantly that I may not be doing what the bible said that I should be doing.

As a matter of fact, if you believe that your pastor has been lying to you about anything, you should really get your head out from under the sand and really look at what you have believed about the bible for so long now. Comments? Feel free.

    • Hi Shannon,

Thanks for you reply. If you look into mainstream Christianity today, there are many practices, customs and teachings that are diametrically contrary to what God says. It is time to really look into the Bible and prove what the truth is.

      • Just seeing, Joshua. I think you have misunderstood my point. Are you sure that the bible is the “Word of God” or propaganda written to keep the people in check at the time? Just an idea. There are MANY instances in the bible that speak contradictions towards other parts of the bible. Have you studied Paul against Jesus’ teachings? Very different.

      • The Bible is the living word of God. It is God’s revelation to His creation. The Bible is consistent, perfect and does not have any error – just as what we can expect from our all-knowing and Mighty God. It is pointless to believe in God while disregarding the Bible.

You might want to re-examine these “many instances” you are saying. Jesus personally taught Paul and what Paul taught came from Jesus. There is really no contradiction.

Can you cite me one scripture you are referring to?

      • You realize good people can do heaven this a fake im not saying bible are not true it’s you have to top 10 lies most of them inaccurate we listen to real bible not this

      • Hi Juan!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a message.

I understand these are hard truths and sayings. However, I beseech you, like what Paul said, prove all things. I would like to hear scriptures to back up your claim that the things I have written here are not true.

        Regards,
        Joshua

    • The Bible is fabricated. I ran across a book at work misquoting Jesus. Yes you have been lied to and I will quote the book. Author Bart D. Ehrman. Pg 4 and I quote ” I decided to major in theology, which meant me taking a lot of biblical courses subscribed to by all the professors (they had to sign a statement) and the students as well (we did as well): the Bible was inerrant word of God. It contains no mistakes. It is inspired by completely and in its very words are – “verbally, plenary inspirstion” All courses I took presupposesd and taught this prespective; any other way was taken to misguided or even heretical. Some, I suppose, would be brainwashing. “This is what the document they all signed read. ” What we have are copies of these writings, made years later- in most cases, many years later. Moreover, none of these copies is completely accurate since the scribes who produced them inadvertently and/or intentionally changed them in places” Get the book and do your research. Another thing that doesn’t make sense is the first man were homo sapiens but Adam was created from the dust. God put Adam in a deep sleep and took one of Adam’s rib and create Eve. Eve was supposed yo be Adam’s first wife. His first wife was Lilth who was a demon. What is the truth. It’s definitely not the Bible. When is God an evil God where we are all of his people but want to kill. Isn’t that one of his commandments.

      • Hi Lovelle,

When you mix truth with lies, confusion happens. You can believe the author you mentioned all you want but that doesn’t change the truth that comes from the word of God.

Yes, it’s true that what we have are copies of copies. The original written documents are gone.

However, God is all powerful who will not let His word to be tampered with. His Word was faithfully preserved for us.

        Regards,
        Joshua

  3. May the almighty Yahweh bless you for teaching the hard truth. The greatest obstacle to keeping Yahweh’s law is the leaders of the mainstream Christianity who would neither teach nor allow their followers to accept the truth. Instead, people are continually fed with unscriptural doctrines.
However, there is a point I want to comment on —those who died without hearing the good news. Ezek 37: 11-28 makes it clear that the vision given to the prophet in that chapter is a reference to the future restoration & reunification of the twelve tribes of Israel in the millennial kingdom. Also, Rev 20:12 seems to make it clear that those who died without hearing the good news will be resurrected and judged according to their works after the millennium.

  4. Sense I was a child I questioned a lot of those teachings you mentioned. I for sure agree with you on every one of those lies. I search and search for truth from GODS word for the things things being taught all these hundreds of years. Thank you for posting this and I am thankful to God for directing me to your blogs. They are all helpful to me and I will be sharing them for sure.

    • Hi Paul,

Thank you and I’m glad that your search for the truth led you to this website. If you have any question or is there any way I can help in your search for the truth, let me know.

      Cheers,
      Joshua

  5. It was agitation and rest that showed me the Truth. 1st off. . . Anyone who claims to have the knowledge of another’s salvation or condemnation is a liar and unwisely replacing God in his throne of judgment. Tho God does not change, the way his Children come to know and understand him is forever changing and never the same. 2 Jeshua is my Brotha from another mother and I AM as he is I AM as my Father is I AM I AM in his image i am. 3 in the beginning was the word and the word was BESIDE GOD & THE WORD WAS GOD. The Bible is powerful indeed but it is merely scripture inwhich e you may find the word of God but most certainly not the only place to find his word. The word of God is not written in a book no! It is written in out hearts. Which we open as we see him. Most importantly Yeshua was against religion and most people worship him religiously or dont believe he even existed. He was a God yes as are we but no he was not the only son, nor was he blond hair blue eyed like the Roman’s, unless Mary whom most likely was dark skinned was raped by a Roman nor was his name Jesus for the letter J has been around less than 500 years. Nor was he Born December 25th born of a virgin who died and those 3 days later most everything you think you know including myself myself … is wrong. What I do know and am confident in is that I truly believe in Yeshua because i believe him and what he taught. I seek to understand his ways. I am not a Christian I am a child of God that’s what I AM. Before you can “believe” in him I would think youd have to believe in what he said first, but Christians do the exact opposite… next time you pray out loud for all to hear just remember Brothers & Sisters no one heard your heart praying but God! So Pray to him in silence and you will hear him reply back! Hallelujah! L
