Let’s Talk About Sex: Is VIRGINITY Still Important?

Son 3:5 I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please

Son 3:5 Swear to me, young women of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, that you won’t awaken or arouse love before its proper time!

Alright, let us talk about what most people like to talk about: SEX. The word itself may elicit different reactions – ranging from ignorance to excitement. In this world where sex is unrestrained, where everybody does what feels good, we ask the question, is saving your virginity for marriage still relevant? What is God’s view to this vital subject?

Setting the record straight

SEX is good. God created it for our enjoyment aside from its primary purpose of procreation. In fact, God encourages us to express our love through sex with our partner. God is the author of marriage and He wants us to enjoy every facet of marriage which includes sex.

When sex becomes evil

Right now, almost every place we look, it seems that sex is being sold. With the proliferation of every type of sexual perversion, everyone is vulnerable of losing their virginity until the right time.

Sex is being glorified which comes with the good old saying, “if it feels right, then go for it”. As a result, people have ended up with broken marriages and relationships. People seem to have the hard time committing to stay in a relationship.

When sex is not used within the context of how God would like it to be used, we suffer the consequences. This world is full of despair and sorrow mainly because of using sex in the wrong way.

When a person has sex outside of marriage, unwanted or unplanned pregnancies happens which result to countless number of abortion.

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4).”

When a person has sex outside of marriage, sexually transmitted diseases happen with millions are being affected. Sadly, most of the sexually transmitted diseases today will be with them for the rest of their lives.

Whether you are a man or woman, your virginity is pricelessYOU CAN ONLY GIVE IT ONCE and surely, you must give it to someone who deserves your love and affection.

When a person has sex outside of marriage, that person is violating God’s commandments.

Make no MISTAKE about it: violated LAWS of God will result to DIRE CONSEQUENCES. No matter what you do, the consequences are INESCAPABLE. Every sin will have its penalty, both today and in the world to come.

Saving your virginity for your marriage

The most wonderful love story that has ever written is when two people grow up as virgins. Two people who had made a commitment that they will save themselves for the right person. These two people have respected and loved each other long before they even know each other – and in their wedding night, they will finally give up their virginity for their one and only partner.

Your virginity is a living proof that you have discipline, self-control, commitment, and the needed respect to oneself and your spouse – all of which are very important to maintain a loving marriage relationship.

Remember this: Your VIRGINITY is the best gift that you can present to your future husband or wife.

Whether you are a man or woman, your virginity is priceless. YOU CAN ONLY GIVE IT ONCE and surely, you must give it to someone who deserves your love and affection.

“For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God (Ephesians 5:5).”

Saving yourself for future spouse comes with a GREAT blessingwonderful, wonderful blessings that are way beyond our comprehension. Take a look at the successful marriages today. Ask them of the secret of their relationship. I am sure that a majority of them married as virgins.

Combating the popular culture

Today, we see how people ridicule virgins. It is difficult to find movies today without sexual sin or perversity. To make things worse, PEOPLE DON”T SEEM TO CARE ANYMORE. So we see a dying society quickly drifting to immorality.

It is time to make a stand. Save your virginity. BE DIFFERENT. It really doesn’t matter what people say. What matters is what God thinks of you. Your value is truly found in the sight of God and not in the sight of your friends.

Delay gratification may seem unbearable today, but believe me; I never heard of people who died because they did not have sex. Remember, the wait is worth it as you think of the blessing that you will reap in the future.

“Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4).”

Please God rather than your flesh. Save your virginity before it’s too late. Having your virginity until your marriage will unlock TREMENDOUS blessings. God promised it and you can claim it after you have made yourself pure.

Having sex today may feel so good, but remember its dire consequences. You only enjoy it within a few minutes and after that, you discovered your girlfriend is pregnant. Sadly, this story is very common today.

Think before you have sex tonight for the first time. Think about what at stake. Think about the future. Think about what will happen after you do it. Think about how this will affect you physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually.

True, we can see people who lost their virginity before marriage as happy people, but YOU CAN BE HAPPIER by following God’s commandments.

Following God’s love and commandments will save you from an ocean of grief and unnecessary suffering. Save your virginity until your married. I can assure you that you will never regret this decision!
