3 Simple Ways to Add God to Your Busy Schedule

Are you so busy that you don’t have time for God? If yes, then this post is for you. A lot of times, we find ourselves doing more than what we can handle. The sad thing is that it is God who is pushed first out of our lives to make room for other world stuff.

So, instead of doing our prayer and bible study first thing in the morning, we kind of postponed it or even canceled it altogether for the day because we got too busy.

I know this is a huge problem for so many Christians today. So, how do we improve in our spiritual life? Thankfully, I have prepared three things that you can quickly and easily add to your busy schedule to incorporate God into your life.

Today, I want to share with you 3 simple and practical ways to quickly add God to your busy schedule.

3 Simple Ways to Add God to Your Busy Schedule

No. 1: Listen to podcasts

In the era of technology, podcasts have become an invaluable resource for gaining spiritual insights on the go. What’s great about listening to audio Christian messages is that you can also do other things while you’re doing it. For example, what I do is that I listen to sermons while I jog, wash the dishes, and clean the car. During our long travels, we also play sermons.

So, whether you’re commuting to work, exercising, or doing household chores, podcasts provide a convenient way to engage with uplifting and thought-provoking content.

To get you started, you can go to Spotify and look for my channel, Becoming Christians. You’ll find a lot of my content on that channel in audio form. So, go ahead and check it out in the description box.

2. Read Devotionals

Devotionals are bite-sized, spiritually enriching readings that offer a quick but impactful way to connect with God. Incorporate a daily devotional into your routine, perhaps during your morning coffee or before bedtime. These short readings provide an opportunity for reflection and can set a positive tone for the day or bring a sense of peace before you sleep.

Devotionals can be as short as 5-10 minutes. It won’t take so much of your time. So, it’s definitely something that should help add spiritual learning to your daily life.

Again, to give you a headstart, go to Becoming Christians Academy and choose my course, “Read Your Bible in 365 Days.” In this course, you’ll read daily devotionals based on the assigned Bible verse for the day. Go to the description box to find the link to my course.

3. Pray Short Prayers

Sometimes, the most powerful prayers are the short ones. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Paul instructed us to pray without ceasing. This actually means that we should have a prayerful attitude throughout the day. We can offer up brief expressions of gratitude, seek guidance, or simply acknowledge God’s presence. These “breath prayers” can be whispered in moments of quiet reflection, helping you maintain a continuous connection with Yahweh our heavenly Father, amid your busy life.

If you wish to learn more, I offer a free masterclass about prayer and it is called, “The 7 Indispensable Qualities of Highly Effective Prayers.” I also added the link to the description box for you to check.

Learn how to put God first in your life

With that, I hope that you will have a better way of adding God to your busy schedule. Of course, this should not be the end, but only the start. I gave you these tips not to encourage you to stay busy that you don’t have time for God. Instead, I gave these tips to help you get started in being more busy with God rather than just worldly matters.

Remember, if you are too busy with physical things, then you’ll never find time to spiritually grow. I strongly recommend that you reconsider your priorities in life. God should not be an afterthought in your life. He should be the center of your life.

So, aside from the tips I have mentioned today, be sure to put God first in your life. Matthew 6:33 tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Jesus Christ, or Yahshua, tells us to seek first, not second, third or fourth. When we put God first, then that’s the time when we are truly growing spiritually.
