Glory Days By Max Lucado Book Review

In this blog, let me share with you my book review of Glory Days written by Max Lucado. I have also included some of the best quotes from the book as well as a summary.

Disclaimer: While I really like this book, I don’t agree with everything written on it. You may want to read my fundamental beliefs here.

Glory Days Summary in Three Sentences

Glory Days looks deeper into the Book of Joshua and explores the vital lessons you can learn from it. It dives deep into the promises made in the book and how it also applies in our lives today. The book discusses why we should stop living in the “wilderness”, how we can move from it, and how we can possess the Promised Land and start living our Glory Days now!

Glory Days Key Lessons

I believe the best lesson you can learn from this book is that we are not meant to stay in the “wilderness” in our lives. We must strive to move toward the Promised Land.

The wilderness represents sinful living. The Promised Land represents righteous living. It is only when we strive to become “Promised Land people” that we can truly live our glory days.

We might face troubles, problems, and trials now, but our best days are still ahead. It is not even just limited in this lifetime, but also in the life to come.

Glory Days Best Quotes

You do not fight for victory. You fight from victory. You move from wanting-to-have to believing you already do.

Leave every “I can’t” behind you. Set your “God can” ahead of you.

Nothing breeds failure like success.

There ain’t no future in the past. You can’t change yesterday, but you can do something about tomorrow. Put God’s will in place.

You may have missed a goal, but you’re still a part of God’s team.

Obedience leads to blessing. Disobedience leads to trouble.

Remember who you are; you are God’s child. You’ve been bought by the most precious commodity in the history of the universe; the blood of Christ.

No one gets everything. But everyone gets something.

God’s definition of promotion: a promotion is not a move up the ladder; it is a move toward your call.

People have a right to say what they want. And you have a right to ignore them. Just because someone sings the blues, you don’t have to join the chorus.

Faith is a choice.

Glory Days Review

Glory Days is written by Max Lucado, one of the most prolific and popular Christian writers of our time.

On Amazon, Glory Days received 4.8 out of 5-star rating from more than 300 readers. If I’m going to rate this book, I’ll be giving it a 4.5-star rating.

The book is just amazing. I love how Max writes. His sense of humor makes his book more interesting and entertaining. Not only that, but the insights are just practical and insightful.

I just like how Max relates the lives of Joshua and Israelites to the lives of Christians today. Though we have lived thousands of years apart, the same godly principles and promises still apply to all of us.

I highly recommend this book. I’ll assure you it won’t waste your time. After reading this book, you will never see the Book of Joshua in the same way again. Each chapter is rich with important lessons that every Christian should learn and apply.
