We just entered the year 2024 and Biblical prophecies continue to March. With the world moving forward to the future, we also move closer to the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ properly known as Yahshua the Messiah.

Looking at the news today in the world, it seems that we are seeing nothing but bad news. All these could strike terror and confusion in our hearts. However, the Bible holds the key to understanding the situations we are in right now and making sense of what is going to happen. That’s why, if we want to have the hope of God’s Word in our hearts, we need to understand Biblical prophecies. So, what should we expect in 2024? Let the Bible reveal it to you. In this blog, let me share with you 3 Biblical prophecies 2024.

Biblical Prophecies 2024 no. 1: Rising Tension in the Middle East

The Middle East is the flashpoint of Bible prophecy. The second coming of our messiah is centered around this region and the biblical prophecy on Israel. Notice the prophecy of Zechariah:

1 The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel. Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: 2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.

Zechariah 12:1-3

As of now, we know that Israel is at war with Hamas. Now, don’t underestimate the power of this war because it can easily escalate into a full-blown World War. This is not getting much media attention but when Israel declared war against Hamas, it also broke the relative peace in the Lebanese-Israel border up north.

The last time Israel engaged in war with Lebanon was in 2006, caused by the killing and kidnapping of Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah, which led to the death of more than 1,100 Lebanese and 165 Israelis. So, we can see here that Israel could potentially be dragged into bigger conflicts since Hezbollah is backed by Iran. 

Now, here’s the bigger problem: you might think that all nations support Israel, but the Arab world thinks differently. Demonstrations of solidarity with Palestinians have broken out across the Arab world and even in Western countries.

Think about this: Hamas actually has a lot of supporters whether financially, economically, militarily, or ideologically. You have Qatar, Iran, and Turkey. Now, by extension, Iran is supported by China, Russia, and India. 

On the other hand, the United States and its allies back Israel. If you take into consideration the allies and enemies of both Israel and Hamas, it’s not difficult to see how this war could spiral into not just a regional conflict, but a global conflict.

Biblical Prophecies 2024 No. 2: The Rise of the Beast Power Headed by Germany

The war between Ukraine and Russia has a more serious biblical prophecy implication than what you initially think. Russia shows us that they can start a serious war any time they want and this has threatened the stability and security in Europe.

This military push of Russia will give Germany a justification to bear arms once again and fortify its military. At the start of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, Germany pledged to strengthen its military to make it the backbone of deterrence and collective defense in Europe.

As a result, in 2022, Germany budgeted a 100 billion-euro special fund, that’s almost 110 billion US dollars, to purchase modern weapons. This becomes part of Germany’s effort to reach NATO’s target of spending at least 2% of the national GDP on defense from 2024.

Just to give you an example, last December, a new agreement between Germany and Lithuania was formed. This will lead to German troops’ first permanent foreign deployment since World War II. You can expect the German military to be more and more aggressive as we move forward.

Biblical prophecies are not here to scare you but to give you hope.

Now, why should we focus on Germany and not just biblical prophecy on Israel? Remember, the two World Wars, World War I and World War II, were started by Germany!

As a way to control Germany, European countries united together to form the European Union. However, this isn’t really working as Germany is now dominating the union and Europe as a whole.

In the Bible, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed about a great statue made of different materials. Daniel interpreted the dream and explained that the statue represents four great kingdoms but the fourth one will be the strongest and fiercest. You can read that in Daniel 2.

The fourth kingdom in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream refers to the Roman Empire, which has long been destroyed. However, the Bible talks about its final resurrection in the end times.

Now, this is a huge biblical prophecy topic, but let me just summarize this real quick. Europe will once again rise to power and is referred to in the Bible as the King of the North. This super United States of Europe will be composed of 10 countries or headed by 10 leaders who will most likely be headed by Germany. 

In the book of Revelation, the European superpower is referred to as the Beast. We read in Revelation 13:1-3:

¹ Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. ² Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. ³ And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded (this refers to the fall of the Roman Empire in the past), and his deadly wound was healed (now, this refers to the final revival of the Roman Empire). And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 

While we are watching what’s happening in the Middle East, don’t forget about Europe. Once the superpower is fully established in Europe, you will soon see how it will try to rule the world just like what Germany did in the 1900s.

Biblical Prophecies 2024 No. 3: The Continued Decline of the United States

As of Jan. 2, 2024, the U.S. government’s debt exceeded $33.99 trillion and there seems to be no end to this growing problem. $33.99 trillion may be easy to read on paper, but it has a huge detrimental effect on the US economy. Actually, this figure is so difficult to grasp in terms of its value.

Currently, the national debt is nearly as large as the entire U.S. economy. Now, here’s what you need to know: In fiscal year (FY) 2023, the United States government spent $6.13 trillion, which was more than it collected (revenue), resulting in a deficit.

If the US debt continues to rise, which is most likely to happen, the United States will have a budget crisis, suffer higher interest rates, experience increased economic instability, and worst of all, a weakened global leadership position. It won’t be able to support its military anymore.

Once the US economy falls, it will also affect the economies of the world leading to a worldwide recession and crisis. The fall of the United States would also lead to its failure to assist its allies in wars and that includes Israel.

It might be a scary thing to happen, but the Bible has predicted the fall of the United States and other English-speaking nations. Once that happened, the European superpower would take over. Israel, losing its strongest ally, would turn to Europe for help, forgetting that it was Germany who killed millions of its people in World War II. Europe would then take control of the Promised Land, which would lead to temporary world peace.

That’s when the biblical prophecy will be fulfilled, where we read:

Peace and safety!” Then sudden destruction comes upon them.

1 Thessalonians 5:3

So, those are the three biblical prophetic events that we should be watching out for in 2024. I know that these events could lead to worldwide suffering, pain, and death. The future looks bleak and gloomy, but Yahshua gives us a living hope when he says in Luke 21:28:

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
