What Does the Bible Say About the Two-State Solution in Israel?

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza has reignited discussions about a two-state solution. However, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, flatly rejected the proposal, insisting on “full Israeli security control over the entire area in the west of the Jordan.”

Given the current dire situation with thousands of lives already lost, is there a way to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza? Could the 2-state solution really happen? What does the Bible say about this peace treaty?

You will surely be shocked by what the future holds for the tiny nation of Israel and how Biblical prophecies unfold before our very eyes. Join us today as we look at the Bible’s future news about the 2-state solution.

What is the Two-State Solution?

Hello there! I’m Joshua Infantado of Becoming Christians Academy, the best online course for you if you want to become a zealous, faithful, and blessed child of God. Today, we are going to look into the Bible and see what it says about the two-state solution proposed by many to end the war in the Middle East.

First, let’s discuss the two-state solution. The two-state solution is a straightforward concept suggesting that having both Israel and a Palestinian state coexist would resolve the crisis. It envisions two separate states in the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. Although widely supported globally, many Israelis and Palestinians now view it as increasingly unrealistic.

What Does the Bible Say About the Two-State Solution in Israel

The Peace Treaty Bible Prophecy for Israel

The Bible talks about a peace treaty that will take place before the coming of our Savior, Yahshua the Messiah. Let’s read this prophecy in Daniel 9:27:

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

This prophecy indicates that there will be a peace treaty that is coming to Israel. Notice the term, “with many.” This tells us that many would give their stamp of approval for this treaty.

Following the biblical principle that a day is equivalent to a year, one week here means that the peace treaty is meant to last up to seven years.

However, after 3 ½ years, which refers to the “middle of the week”, someone will break the peace treaty by desecrating the sacrifices and offerings made in the temple, which would lead to the abomination of desolation.

Notice, for this prophecy to happen, you need the third temple where the sacrifices and offerings are made possible. Some people believe that even an altar is enough to resume the daily sacrifices in Israel and not a full construction of the third temple.

Nevertheless, the passage is clear that the daily sacrifices would be resumed in the end times.

How the Peace Treaty Will Happen

Now, the next question is, how is this peace treaty going to happen? Who is the “He” in the statement, “He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.” Identifying this person would help us better understand how the peace treaty would come to pass.

To answer this question, we need to go back to a verse earlier in Daniel 9:26:

26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

My personal understanding is that the “He” in verse 27 refers to the prince in verse 26. The people of the prince are the ones who destroyed Jerusalem and its sanctuary in AD 70. Who are these people? They are the people of the Roman Empire.

Much of the territory of the Roman Empire today is found in the territory covered by the European Union. This means that there will be a leader who is referred to as “prince” in Daniel 9:26. This leader will rise in the end times and he will be coming from Europe.

Today, some of the strongest advocates of the two-state solution are people in Europe. The European Union’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell insisted recently how the military effort of Israel is failing to achieve peace and that a two-state solution is the way to end the conflict. Even German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock mentioned that a two-state solution is the “only solution” to the conflict and would allow for the peaceful coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians.

Israel Giving Up Its Territories

Even now, we are seeing how the European Union would push for a peace treaty in Israel. Jeremiah 25:17-20 seems to indicate that part of the peace treaty would force Israel to give up the control of some of its territories:

17 Then I took the cup from the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the LORD had sent me: 18 Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day; 19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people; 20 all the mixed multitude, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines (namely, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);

Notice that Ashkelon, Ekron, and Ashdod are currently under the control of Israel. In the future, Israel might have to give them up for the elusive peace to occur.

In the end time, the United States and the English-speaking nations will fall. They are the main allies of Israel. Because Israel will lose its allies, it will turn to Europe for help. Because of the pressure, Israel will give into the demands of the superpower coming out of Europe and thus, the peace treaty would be established.

The Only Hope for Mankind

Once the temple was desecrated and the daily sacrifices ended, you will know that the wrath of Satan would start and will overlap with the wrath of God in its final stage. All these would bring destruction and death upon the earth. Jesus Christ (Yahshua) warned us:

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

Matthew 24:21-22

Thankfully, this world will not end as most sci-fi movies would tell us. Before we completely destroy ourselves, our Savior would step in and establish the much-awaited Kingdom of God where lasting peace, joy, and abundance will finally come on this earth.

I hope that gives you a fresh perspective about how a peace treaty, which may come in the form of the 2-state solution, would be established in Israel.
