Why You Should Add Faith in Your Prayer

Did you know that we should pray in faith? But what does that actually mean? What is faith anyway? And how does it improve our prayers? Most importantly, how can we pray in faith?

We’re diving into these questions in this eye-opening blog. Join us as we uncover the power of faith in making our prayers effective!

Faith and Pleasing God

Hello everyone! It’s Joshua here, and I’m excited to dive into the third quality of effective prayers in our Bible study series, “The 7 Qualities of Effective Prayers.” We’ve already covered the first two qualities, and now it’s time to explore the importance of “Faithful Prayer.”

To enhance the effectiveness of our prayers, we need to infuse them with faith. Hebrews 11:6 highlights this beautifully:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Did you catch that? Faith is not just important in prayer; it’s absolutely crucial. The verse makes it clear that without faith, pleasing God is simply impossible. It’s not merely challenging or difficult—it’s beyond reach without faith. In essence, pleasing God without faith is a non-starter.

Therefore, it’s vital to recognize that faith is a fundamental component of prayer. It involves believing that God hears us and will respond to our prayers. When we pray with faith, we demonstrate our trust in God, affirm His power, and acknowledge Him as the One who rewards those earnestly seeking Him.

Why add faith to your prayer

Believing in the midst of trials

It’s true that doubts and fears often assail us, particularly during life’s trials and tribulations. However, it’s essential to recognize that prayer not only requires faith but also has the power to strengthen and fortify our faith.

One compelling reason to incorporate faith into our prayers is that it enables us to trust in God’s infinite wisdom, love, and mercy. It’s important to understand that praying in faith doesn’t guarantee that we’ll always receive a “yes” to our requests. This misconception can lead some to despair when their prayers seemingly go unanswered, leading to feelings of depression or disappointment. Alternatively, it may result in anger towards God, questioning His care and provision.

These traps are indeed perilous and can have destructive consequences. Therefore, it’s crucial to infuse our prayers with faith—not as an attempt to bend God to our will, but rather to find inner peace. With faith, we can trust that regardless of how God chooses to answer our prayers, He has our best interests at heart. We can have full confidence that God is for us and that He ultimately provides what is truly good for us.

That’s what it truly means to incorporate faith into your prayers. So, don’t hesitate to pray, especially when doubts assail you. It’s during those moments of uncertainty that fervent prayer becomes even more crucial. Whether or not everything makes sense to you, it’s vital to place your trust in God and seek the strength to maintain your faith and persevere in your Christian journey.
