đźš˝ I grew up using the river as our toilet

Today, I want to share something personal.

I grew up in a squatters’ area.

It wasn’t the kind of place people dream about when they imagine their childhood. Our house was small, crowded, and built with whatever materials we could afford. We didn’t have our own toilet. When nature called, we went to the river.

Even something as simple as water required effort. We didn’t have a faucet inside the house. If we needed water to cook, wash, or bathe, we had to carry buckets from a public water source. Back and forth. Again and again.

As a child, I didn’t fully understand what poverty meant. But I knew one thing clearly: life was hard.

I remember watching other families who seemed to have more than we did. More comfort. More stability. More opportunities. And sometimes I wondered if life would always be that way for us.

But my father would often tell me something that stayed with me.

“Study hard. Do well in school.”

In the Philippines, that advice carries a lot of weight. For many families, education is the doorway out of poverty. My father believed that if I worked hard in school, I could create a better future than the one we were living in.

So I listened.

I studied as hard as I could. I did my best in school. I held on to the idea that learning could change my life.

Looking back now, I realize something important.

That simple lesson from my father planted a seed in my heart.

Education Leads to Success

Over time, I learned that education truly is one of the keys to financial success.

Not the only key, of course. Many successful people have taken different paths. But education dramatically increases your chances of building a better life. It gives you knowledge. It sharpens your skills. It opens doors that would otherwise remain closed.

More importantly, education teaches you how to think, how to make wiser decisions, and how to navigate the challenges of the real world.

And one of the biggest challenges people face today is money.

Financial stress is everywhere. People struggle with debt, poor spending habits, lack of planning, and constant worry about making ends meet. Even those who earn a decent income often feel trapped because they were never taught how to manage their finances wisely.

Here’s the truth: earning money and managing money are two completely different skills.

Many people focus on increasing their income but overlook the importance of learning how to handle what they already have.

And that’s where a different kind of education becomes powerful.

Financial Wisdom from the Bible

Over the years, I realized that financial wisdom is not just a modern concept. The Bible has been teaching principles about money, stewardship, and generosity for thousands of years.

God cares deeply about how we handle what He entrusts to us.

Scripture talks about stewardship, discipline, contentment, generosity, planning for the future, and leaving a legacy. These principles are not just spiritual ideas. They are practical truths that can transform the way we manage our finances.

That realization is what inspired me to create something special.

I wanted to gather the most powerful biblical lessons about money into one clear, practical guide that anyone could follow.

So I created a course called “14 Biblical Principles for Financial Management.”
