Let’s be honest for a moment.
Not the “church face” honest, but the deep, heart-on-the-sleeve kind.
You and I—we’ve whispered lies to ourselves before.
We dress them up nicely, sprinkle a little Christian lingo on top, and carry on as if they’re gospel truth.
But they’re not.
They are chains disguised as comfort.
They are heavy weights dressed up like light burdens.
And worst of all?
Many of us don’t even realize we’re believing them.
Today, let’s rip the mask off.
Let’s shine the light of God’s Word straight into the places we keep hidden, even from ourselves.
Are you ready?
Because freedom is on the other side of truth.

Lie #1: “God could never use someone like me.”
This one feels real, doesn’t it?
You’ve messed up. Big time.
Or maybe you just feel… ordinary. Invisible. Not special enough.
And so you whisper to your heart, “God has favorites. And I’m not one of them.”
Friend, listen to me.
That is a lie straight from the pit of hell.
Scripture says, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise…” (1 Corinthians 1:27, NKJV).
He chooses the broken. He uses the weak. He loves the unworthy.
Moses stuttered.
David committed adultery.
Peter denied Christ three times.
Yet, look at how God used them to change the world.
You are not too broken, too messed up, too small.
You are perfectly positioned for a miracle.
Lie #2: “If I just try harder, God will love me more.”
Ahh, performance Christianity.
It’s exhausting, isn’t it?
Wake up. Try harder. Do more. Achieve more.
Maybe today, God will smile at me instead of frowning.
But here’s the truth that will set your heart free:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8, NKJV).
You didn’t earn His love when you were at your worst.
What makes you think you need to earn it now?
You are loved because of who He is, not because of what you do.
Let that truth soak deep into your bones.

Lie #3: “This sin is too big to be forgiven.”
You don’t say it out loud.
But in the quiet moments—the ones when it’s just you and the weight of your guilt—you believe it.
You think you’ve crossed the line one too many times.
You imagine God turning His face away, disappointed beyond repair.
But hear me:
If your sin was too big, then the cross wasn’t enough.
Are you willing to say that?
Of course not.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, NKJV).
All.
Not some.
Not most.
All.
When Yahshua said, “It is finished” (John 19:30, NKJV), He meant it.
You don’t have to carry that shame anymore.

Lie #4: “I can handle this on my own.”
Our culture worships independence.
“Strong people don’t need help,” they say.
“Keep it together. Don’t let anyone see you fall apart.”
But that’s not the Gospel.
The Gospel says: You can’t handle it. You were never meant to.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, NKJV).
Nothing.
Not “a little something.”
Not “try really hard and almost get there.”
Without Him, we fall flat every single time.
And you know what?
That’s not weakness. That’s wisdom.
The strongest Christian is the one most dependent on Christ.
Lie #5: “It’s too late for me.”
Too much time wasted.
Too many mistakes.
Too old. Too tired. Too broken.
But here’s the thing:
As long as there is breath in your lungs, God is not finished with you.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6, NKJV).
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten.
You are not too far gone.
Your story isn’t over.
God is still writing it.
And His pen does not slip.
Here’s the Truth You Need to Remember:
- You are loved without performance.
- You are forgiven beyond comprehension.
- You are chosen despite your flaws.
- You are dependent, and that’s beautiful.
- You are still in the race—because God says you are.
Don’t let the lies win anymore.
Expose them. Crush them under the weight of God’s unchanging truth.
Friend, you’re not disqualified.
You’re not too broken.
You’re not too late.
You are His.
And that makes all the difference.
