The ONLY Faith You Will Ever Need

Have you ever stopped to think about what really holds you up in life?

What truly gives you the strength to keep moving forward, even when everything else feels like it’s falling apart?

For so many people, the answer might seem obvious: their money, their possessions, their job, or the people they rely on.

But what happens when all of that is stripped away?

I’m here to tell you something that might challenge everything you’ve been taught or thought about faith.

There is only one faith that will never fail you.

It is the faith in God—an unwavering belief in His power, His love, and His sovereignty.

And that, my friend, is the only faith you will ever need.

Faith in a small boat in the middle of the storm

Let me tell you a story.

It’s not an unfamiliar one; it’s about the storms of life. In Matthew 14:22-33, the disciples found themselves on a boat in the middle of a fierce storm.

They were terrified, but then they saw something that made their hearts stop—Jesus walking toward them on the water. Peter, full of faith in that moment, stepped out of the boat and began walking toward Jesus.

But as soon as he shifted his focus from Jesus to the wind and waves around him, he started to sink.

Isn’t that how we often live our lives?

We start off with our eyes fixed on God, trusting Him to lead us through life’s stormy waters.

But then, as we face hardships and challenges, we begin to look around at the things we think we need to survive—money, approval, power—and we start to sink.

Why?

Because the only solid ground is in Christ.

Faith in the World

The world will tell you that faith in material wealth, status, or people will secure your future.

It will convince you that if you just accumulate more, achieve more, or get more recognition, you’ll have everything you need.

But the truth is, these things are fleeting.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6:19-20, NKJV).

It’s so easy to get caught up in the pursuit of what’s temporary.

We look at the world around us—people striving for fame, wealth, success—and it feels like we need those things to be happy, to feel secure, to feel loved.

But here’s the key: all of that is like sand slipping through your fingers.

But the faith you place in God? That is solid rock.

Faith in God: The Anchor for Your Soul

Hebrews 6:19 tells us, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…”

Hope in God, the belief in His eternal promises, is the only anchor that will keep you from drifting when the world pulls at you.

Every other anchor—your bank account, your relationships, your job security—can let you down. But God’s promises are sure.

The Faith that Moves Mountains

Jesus talked about this kind of faith in Matthew 17:20, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

I know it’s hard to imagine that a small amount of faith in God could accomplish big things. But let me tell you something.

The mustard seed is not about the size of your faith—it’s about the object of your faith.

If your faith is in God, the Creator of the universe, then mountains will move.

It’s not about how much faith you can muster; it’s about trusting God with whatever you have, however little it may seem.

A Faith That Doesn’t Waver

James 1:6-8 talks about a faith that’s unwavering. It says, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Life will throw us curveballs.

It will push us to the edge, asking us to trust in things that we can see and touch.

But here’s the thing: the faith in God we need is unshakable.

When you hold onto that kind of faith, you’re not tossed around by the storms of life.

You know Who holds you, and that is enough.

The Only Faith That Can Carry You

When everything else fails, God remains.

When friends disappoint, God’s love remains.

When health deteriorates, God’s healing power remains.

When wealth fades away, God’s provision remains.

This faith is not about what you can see right now.

It’s about what you know is true because of the unshakable, eternal promises of God.

I’m not saying that pursuing wealth, relationships, or success is wrong.

But these things should never be the foundation of your life.

God is the only solid foundation.

If your faith is in anything else—your job, your wealth, your influence, your appearance—you’ll be left with nothing when those things crumble.

But when your faith is in God, you’ll stand firm.

So, what does this faith look like in action?

It’s surrendering control.

It’s acknowledging that you can’t handle life on your own, and you need God’s strength.

It’s choosing to trust in His plan, even when it doesn’t make sense.

It’s walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

It’s choosing His promises over the promises of the world.

It’s trusting in the God who says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

It’s believing that He has a purpose for your life, no matter what the world tells you about success or happiness.

A Call to Action: Place Your Faith Where It Belongs

So, friend, I ask you today—where is your faith?

Is it in the temporary, fleeting things of this world, or is it in the eternal God who has the power to move mountains, calm storms, and heal the deepest wounds?

If you’ve placed your faith in anything other than God, I encourage you to take a step back.

Look at where your focus is.

Are you living in fear, wondering if you have enough?

Or are you living in faith, knowing that you have more than enough in God?

This is the ONLY faith you will ever need.

The faith in God, the Creator of the universe, the One who never changes.

The One who holds you when you’re sinking, who lifts you when you fall, and who promises to be with you through every storm.

Trust Him, friend. You’ll never regret it.
