Making the Feast of Tabernacles the Turning Point of Your Life

Imagine this: piles of laundry reaching for the sky, signaling the end of yet another Feast of Tabernacles.

It’s a humorous and relatable moment, isn’t it? But let’s pause and dig deeper.

As the physical reminders of the Feast start to fade, let me ask you this: what about the spiritual ones?

Over the past week, you’ve heard sermonettes, sermons, and heart-stirring messages designed to point you toward a higher calling — toward a life anchored in God’s Kingdom.

Now comes the pivotal moment. Will this Feast simply be a temporary boost, or will it mark a turning point in your life?

What Is a Turning Point?

A turning point is more than just a good intention; it’s a defining moment — a decision that alters your path. It’s that moment you say, “Enough of living aimlessly. I’m choosing God’s way, fully and completely.”

For me, there have been key turning points in my journey.

One was in 2004 when I attended a summer camp that inspired me to join the Feast of Tabernacles for the first time.

Another was my baptism in 2010, where I committed to walking in Yahweh’s ways.

Marriage in 2014 added new dimensions to my faith, and becoming a parent profoundly reshaped my understanding of God’s love and responsibility.

You have your own turning points too.

Reflect on them.

Those moments didn’t just happen; they defined who you are today.

And today, I urge you to make this Feast of Tabernacles another turning point — one where you decide to leave behind complacency and embrace a deeper, more vibrant walk with Yahweh.

A Call to Action

James 1:22-25 (NKJV) delivers a powerful reminder:

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves… But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it… this one will be blessed in what he does.”

We deceive ourselves when we merely listen without acting. It’s like looking in a mirror, walking away, and forgetting what we saw. The real tragedy isn’t in hearing the truth — it’s in failing to live it out.

Think about it.

How often have you left a Feast or sermon moved by what you heard, only to return to the same old habits, the same struggles, the same excuses? If you don’t let this Feast change you, then what was it for?

Build Your House on the Rock

In Matthew 7:24-27, Yahshua illustrates the stark contrast between two builders:

  • The wise builder hears and acts, building on the rock.
  • The foolish builder hears but does nothing, building on sand.

Both houses face storms — the inevitable trials of life. But only one stands firm. The foundation makes all the difference.

If you’ve ever wondered why some people persevere in their faith while others falter, the answer lies here. The doers endure. They’ve built their lives on obedience to Yahweh’s Word.

How to Make This Feast Your Turning Point

  1. Apply What You Learned
Knowledge without action is empty. Take the lessons of this Feast and weave them into your daily life. Whether it’s showing kindness, growing in patience, or dedicating more time to prayer and study, start today.
  2. Develop Godly Habits
Build consistency in your relationship with Yahweh. Make prayer and Bible study non-negotiable parts of your day. Even small, consistent steps lead to profound transformation over time.
  3. For the Young People
The message isn’t just for adults. If you’re young, prioritize Yahweh now. Avoid distractions like endless gaming or premature romantic relationships. Instead, use your youth to cultivate a solid foundation in Him.
  4. Rededicate Your Life
Returning home can feel like stepping back into “reality,” but let’s change that narrative. Make this Feast the moment you return to your routine as a new person — one with a clearer vision, a stronger faith, and a heart more aligned with Yahweh’s purpose.

The Choice Is Yours

It’s easy to hear these words and think, “That was a nice message.” But Yahshua’s challenge in Matthew 7 still stands: Will you be a wise builder or a foolish one? Will you build on the rock or on the sand?

Ultimately, it’s not just about what you know — it’s about what you do with what you know.

Of course, salvation is by grace through faith, but faith without works is dead (James 2:26). You have a role to play in responding to Yahweh’s call.

So, I leave you with this:

  • Will this Feast of Tabernacles be the moment you turn your life around?
  • Will you take what you’ve learned and let it transform you?

The choice is yours. Make this Feast the turning point of your life. Build on the Rock. Live the life Yahweh has called you to live.
