Today’s reading: Isaiah 41:10

The Strength of Yahweh encourages you

We read in Isaiah 41:10:

10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Reading Isaiah 40-41, you will read the power and might of Yahweh. Isaiah wrote about the infinite wisdom and unimaginable greatness of the Most High God.

After showing Israel what God is capable of, God declares, “Fear not, for I am with you.”

This is both a command and a promise. It’s a command because God wants us to stop fearing. It’s a promise because God will always be with us.

Yet, when we don’t understand things, the first thing we might feel is fear. God says, “don’t fear.” That shouldn’t be your response.

Instead, be courageous. Be strong. Be faithful. Trust God and lay all your worries and fears before Him.

Since the most powerful Being in this vast universe is with us, there’s no reason for us to fear.

Aside from fearing, we must not be dismayed. Being dismayed means we become disappointed. We lose our confidence in God. We stop trusting Him simply because things didn’t go the way we want them to.

However, God says we must not be dismayed because He is God!

Since He is God, He is always in control. The suffering you are going through, the disappointment you’re feeling, and the discouragement you’re experiencing — all these are nothing compared to what God can do.

When you need strength, God will be your strength. When you need help, God will be your Helper.

You will not fall or fail because God will uphold you with His righteous right hand. Since God is righteous, He will do what He promised. What He started, He will finish.

We are not simply holding on to God. God is actually the One who is holding you. When you lose your strength and let go of God, God is still holding you.

And because God holds you, it means He is near. He is as close as your next breath.

So, stop fearing. Stop getting dismayed. Stop getting discouraged.

Yahweh is the ultimate Ruler and His power and might are more than enough to carry you through life’s greatest challenges.
