Today’s reading: Ecclesiastes 12:1
Remember your Creator
We read in Ecclesiastes 12:1:
Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,
Before the difficult days come,
And the years draw near when you say,
“I have no pleasure in them.”
The best time to remember and serve Yahweh is when you are still young. The younger you start, the better.
The youths are in a unique position where they have a lot of years ahead of them. They are in the prime of their strength and the best way to spend that is to serve the Almighty.
Notice that we should remember our Creator now — not tomorrow, next week, or next year. It is not when we finish school, not when we are employed, not when we are married, not when we are financially free, not when we are old.
There’s a tremendous blessing when we start seeking God while we are still young. We take the path of righteousness, which leads to life. When we have a close relationship with God, we avoid a lot of heartaches and pains. We don’t go through unnecessary suffering that could have a lifetime effect on us.
With God leading our path while we are still young, we are making the best decisions in our lives.
Remember your Creator means you remember that you are created with a purpose. You didn’t randomly evolve from rocks. You were created by Yahweh and because of that, there’s more to life than meets the eye.
We start living our lives with an eternal purpose. We don’t simply wake up each day, work, sleep and repeat the same routine over and over again.
You and I need to remember our Creator and the best time is now.
