Today’s reading: Job 34:10-12

God’s love and justice

We read in Job 34:10-12:

10 “Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding:
Far be it from God to do wickedness,
And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.

11 For He repays man according to his work,
And makes man to find a reward according to his way.

12 Surely God will never do wickedly,
Nor will the Almighty pervert justice.

There are eternal truths that we can always believe:

One, God will never commit wickedness. Two, God will not commit iniquity. Three, God will never pervert justice.

It takes a lot of faith and courage to believe these truths especially when you go through unjust trials and difficult situations you never caused.

That’s why we see how so many people accuse God of being unfair and wicked when they see all the suffering around the world. They even think of Him as a tyrant who kills millions of people.

However, we must see our situation in relation to eternity. Our present situation doesn’t define the whole story. Yet, at the end of it all, we would see that God is indeed loving, just, and merciful.

When we suffer, we can still be confident that God is just.

When people die, we can still say that God is loving.

When people get sick, we can still believe that God is merciful.

God can choose to open our minds and understand why these things are happening. However, God is not obligated to tell us everything for us to understand.

You see, that’s where faith comes in. If we know everything, that wouldn’t need much faith, would it?

So, trust the Almighty. You can always depend on God’s justice and love to win at the end of it all.
