Today’s reading: John 15:5

The True Vine

We read in John 15:5:

I am the vine, you are the branches.

There are a lot of analogies that show us the type of relationship that we have with the Father and His Son. We have the analogy of father and son and shepherd and sheep.

The vine analogy is quite unique because it shows us our complete dependence on Yahweh and Yahshua. In order for us to bear fruit, let alone live, we must constantly be connected to the True Vine, which is Yahshua.

Yahshua also made it clear that the Father also has a role to play in our spiritual life. He is the Vinedresser, the one who takes care of the vine and branch.

Isn’t this a wonderful picture of our relationship with the Most High and Yahshua? It shows us not just how we can bear fruit, but also why we must continually be connected to them.

Our spiritual life greatly depends on our connection with God and Yahshua. By getting the spiritual nutrition that we need, we are able to bear fruit.
