Today’s reading: Genesis 37:2 | Genesis 41:46

God’s timetable

Scripture says that Joseph was 17 years old when his brothers sold him to the Ishmaelites (Genesis 37:2). By the time he was released from prison and appointed as head over Egypt, Joseph was 30 years of age (Genesis 41:46).

This showed us that patience is an important virtue for all followers of Yahshua. However, we must remember that in the season of waiting, Joseph wasn’t lazy. Unknowingly, he was preparing himself for the important role he would play in Egypt.

Joseph stayed with Potiphar longer than he was in prison. We know that Potiphar is a high-ranking official in Egypt. This could have given Joseph the necessary training, resources, and knowledge needed to become an effective leader.

When God makes us wait, He is preparing us for something big.

So, let’s all be patient and trust God’s timetable results in the best timing in our life.
