8 Little-Known Descriptions of the Future Kingdom of God

There will come a time when Jesus will finally return here on earth and directly intervene into human affairs. He will rule for a thousand years with His saints and extend salvation to the rest of humanity.

We all have heard how wonderful the future Kingdom of God will be. But do you know specifically how that Kingdom will look like? There are many Biblical prophecies about the Kingdom of God. These prophecies also describe what will happen and how it would be like during Christ’s reign.

In this blog, let me share with you the Bible prophecies that describe the Kingdom of God.

1. There will be incredible peace on earth

He shall judge between many peoples,
And rebuke strong nations afar off;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks
;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
NEITHER SHALL THEY LEARN WAR ANYMORE.

But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree,
And no one shall make them afraid;
For the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken (Micah 4:3-4).

2. There will be an abundance of agricultural harvest

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,
When the plowman shall overtake the reaper,
And the treader of grapes him who sows seed
;
The mountains shall drip with sweet wine,
And all the hills shall flow with it.
I will bring back the captives of My people Israel;
They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them;
They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them;
They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them (Amos 9:13-14).

3. There will be no more sicknesses, and the wasteland will flourish

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.

The parched ground shall become a pool,
And the thirsty land springs of water;
In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
There shall be grass with reeds and rushes. (Isaiah 35:5-7).

4. There will be no more wild animals

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:6-9).

5. Mankind will have a heart that will obey God’s Laws

“Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God” (Ezekiel 11:19-20).

6. Mankind will learn the way of God

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the Lord’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And peoples shall flow to it.
Many nations shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths
.”
For out of Zion the law shall go forth,
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem (Micah 4:1-2).

7. The entire world will be filled with the knowledge of God

“For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,
As the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).

8. Jesus Christ will ultimately rule the earth

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and HE SHALL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER!” (Revelation 11:15).

Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6-7).

Final words

These are just some of the beautiful scriptures that describe the awesome coming Kingdom of God or what is known to be the “Millennial Reign” (Revelation 20:4-6). Knowing these scriptures will help us appreciate and yearn more for God’s Kingdom to be established here on earth. Thankfully, every year, God has given us the opportunity to have a foretaste of His perfect Kingdom during the Feast of Tabernacles.

This world desperately needs help. We cannot solve our problems, and we need God’s intervention to finally end all the pains, sufferings, and death. This is the main reason we need to pray, “Thy Kingdom come!”
