30 Irrefutable Biblical Truths About Jesus Christ Every Christian Must Know

More than 2 billion people claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. However, not all people really know who Jesus Christ is. Throughout the century, instead of Biblical truths, many “Christians” believed false doctrines and human traditions. Christianity today believed a Jesus that is way different than the Jesus in the Bible.

Do you really know the REAL Jesus Christ? What is the source of your knowledge? Is it human tradition or the Bible? If you desire a closer relationship with God and Jesus Christ, you need to know more about them.

In this blog post, let me share with you basic and advanced 30 Biblical truths about Jesus Christ.

Truth no. 1: Jesus is the I AM

“Jesus said unto them, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM’” (John 8:28).

Comment: The statement of Jesus Christ may sound strange when translated into English. However, if you will look into the Hebrew meaning of that, Jesus makes a statement that will make His audience want to stone Him for blasphemy.

I AM is a title related to the Hebrew name “YHWH”. The one who actually talked to Abraham in Exodus 3:13-14 is the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ Himself!

By claiming to be the I AM, Jesus is equating Himself to the YHWH, “The Eternal One,” “The One Who Was, Is and Always Will Be”, and “The One Who Always Exists”.

Truth no. 2: Jesus is “The Rock” of the Old Testament

“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ” (I Corinthians 10:1-4).

Comment: The One the Israelites looked up to as “The Rock” (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 18:2) is actually Jesus Christ.

Truth no. 3: Jesus Christ is the Creator

“But in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one through whom God created the universe, the one whom God has chosen to possess all things at the end” (Hebrews 1:2).

“From the very beginning the Word was with God. Through him God made ALL things; not one thing in all creation was made without him” (John 1:2-3).

“And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 3:9).

Truth no. 4: Jesus has the authority to forgive sins

“But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins” (Mark 2:10).

Truth no. 5: Christ can raise the dead

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live” John 5:25).

Truth no. 6: Christ accepts honor and worship

That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him” (John 5:23).

“Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God” (Matthew 14:33).

“Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me” (Matthew 15:25).

Comment: Other scriptures that show Jesus accepts worship are Matthew 28:9 and 17, Mark 5:6, and John 9:38.

Truth no. 7: Jesus commands Christians to pray in His name

“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13).

Comment: Please also read Philippians 2:9-11 and John 14:13.

Truth no. 8: Belief in Jesus can lead to eternal life

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day… Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life… Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40, 47, 54).

“Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God” (Luke 12:8-9).

Truth no. 9: Jesus is the promised Messiah

“For with his strong arguments he defeated the Jews in public debates by proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah” (Acts 18:28).

Truth no. 10: Jesus wasn’t born on December 25

Any secular publication and religious authority will readily admit that Jesus wasn’t born on December 25. From Genesis to Revelation, there is NO single indication that Jesus was born on December 25. As a matter of fact, there is a wealth of evidence that goes against this belief.

Truth no. 11: Jesus was a prophet

“But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet” (Matthew 21:46).

Comment: Please also read Luke 7:16, 24:19; John 4:19, 6:14, 7:40, 9:17, and Acts 3:20-23.

Truth no. 12: Jesus was miraculously conceived by a virgin

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).

Comment: Please read Matthew 1:18-23 and Luke 1:26-35.

Truth no. 13: Jesus was sacrificed to pay for sins

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

Truth no. 14: Jesus lived a sinless life

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).

Truth no. 15: Jesus has half-brothers and –sisters

“Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him” (Mark 6:3).

Truth no. 16: Jesus is the only one who went up to heaven

“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven” (John 3:13).

Comment: This is one of the many proofs that human beings remain in the grave unconscious when they die. The doctrine of immortal soul and good people go to heaven are unbiblical and cannot be proven through the Bible.

Truth no. 17: Jesus died and rose again

“And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him” (Mark 16:6).

Truth no. 18: Jesus is God who became flesh

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” John 1:1-3, 14).

Truth no. 19: Jesus has existed before the time begun

“The same was in the beginning with God (John 1:2).

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist (Colossians 1:16-17).

“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was” (John 17:5).

Truth no. 20: Jesus experienced the same physical limitations as other human beings

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred (Matthew 4:2).

“After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst” (John 19:28).

“Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour” (John 4:6).

Truth no. 21: Jesus felt human emotions

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd” (Matthew 9:36).

Comment: Compare with John 11:5; 13:23; 19:26; Matthew 14:14; 15:32; and 20:34.

Truth no. 22: Jesus did not have long hair

“Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him” (I Corinthians 11:14)?

Comment: The typical Jew in Jesus time did not wear long hair. They have short hair and if ever Jesus would have long hair, He would stand out from the crowd. But we know this was not the case because the Pharisees had to ask Judas to identify Jesus. This is needed because Jesus looked the same way as any Jewish man in His time.

Truth no. 23: Jesus did not come to destroy the Law or the Prophets

Think NOT that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to FULFIL. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:17-19).

Comment: This is contrary to what most people believe. The majority of Christians believes that Jesus died so that He can free us from keeping the law. But in contrary, Jesus did not abolish the law, but FULFILLED it. He further said that those who will break God’s commandments or teach that God’s commandments are done away will be called least in the Kingdom of God.

Truth no. 24: Jesus freed us from the animal sacrificial system

“As it is, however, the sacrifices serve year after year to remind people of their sins. For the blood of bulls and goats can never take away sins. For this reason, when Christ was about to come into the world, he said to God: “You do not want sacrifices and offerings, but you have prepared a body for me. You are not pleased with animals burned whole on the altar or with sacrifices to take away sins…. Then he said, “Here I am, O God, to do your will.” So God does away with all the old sacrifices and puts the sacrifice of Christ in their place. Because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do, we are all purified from sin by the offering that he made of his own body ONCE AND FOR ALL… Christ, however, offered one sacrifice for sins, an offering that is effective forever, and then he sat down at the right side of God. With one sacrifice, then, he has made perfect forever those who are purified from sin” (Hebrews 10:4-6, 9-10, 12-14).

Truth no. 25: Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath

“And he said unto them, ‘The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath’” (Mark 2:27-28).

Comment: Jesus claimed to be the Lord of the seventh-day Sabbath. He was and will never be the Lord of the human-ordained Sunday worship day.

Truth no. 26: Jesus regularly kept the Sabbath

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read” (Luke 4:16).

Truth no. 27: Jesus reveals God the Father

“All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him” (Matthew 11:27).

“Jesus saith unto him, ‘Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father’” (John 14:9)?

Comment: Please also read Hebrew 1:1-3.

Truth no. 28: Jesus is the mediator between humans and God

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” (I Timothy 2:5-6).

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:14-16).

Truth no. 29: Jesus will literally return here on earth

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Comment: Instead of a helpless baby in a manger, Jesus will return as a conquering King who will finally step into the affairs of men before they are finally wiped out from the face of the earth (Matthew 24:21-22). Jesus will then establish His Kingdom here on earth and reign with His saints (Revelation 5:10).

Truth no. 30: Jesus’s death demonstrated God’s unfailing love toward us

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).

Final words

These are some of the Biblical truths that are revealed unto us. As Christians, it is very important to know whom we are following and worshipping. Christ, Himself, said that those who desire to worship God, they must do so in spirit and truth (John 4:24). It is only knowing the REAL Jesus that we can have a deeper relationship with Him.
