Satan has a secret and he made a great job in hiding it from the majority of people on this earth. Now, you can know these dark secrets of Satan and be more effective in overcoming his evil devices!
Satan, the Devil, has his own secrets that he doesn’t want us to know.
The Hebrew word for Satan means “an adversary or one who resists”. Clearly, he is the enemy of God and of all mankind. While this is really obvious, there are things about Satan that most people, even Christians, don’t know!
In this blog, let me share with you the five dirty secrets of Satan.
1. He exists
According to a survey made by the Barna Group, the majority of American Christians do not believe that Satan exists. According to the survey, most believe that Satan is just a “symbol of evil”, nothing more nothing less. This is quite surprising since if there would be people who believe in his existence, it should be the Christians.
The bible is clear that Satan exists. The bible says that we need to put on the armor of God to withstand the influence of Satan (Ephesians 6:11-12). In Job 1:6-7, we see that Satan is among the angels who presented themselves to God. Numerous passages accurately prove his existence as well (I Chronicles 21:1-2; Matthew 4:1-11; Psalms 109:6; Zechariah 3:1-2; Matthew 12:22-28).
2. He is an angel of light

The traditional depiction of Satan is being a hideous, red, hairy, and scary monster with a long pointed tail and horns. While it is true that he is portrayed as a serpent and dragon (Revelation 12:9), he was once a perfect cherub that covers the throne of God (Ezekiel 28:14-15). Today, he and his demons can transform into an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14) to deceive people. So it is most likely that he will appear before men as an angel rather than a monster.
3. He is the god of this world
This is quite a surprise to some people, but Satan is actually the god of this world. This is clearly stated in II Corinthians 4:4 and I John 5:19. Satan even offered the kingdoms of this world to Jesus Christ when he tempts him (Matthew 4:8-9). This explains why this world is in great chaos since its ruler is Satan.
4. Satan is completely powerless against God
Satan does not want us to believe that we can defeat him with the help of God. While it is true that Satan is very powerful and we are no match for him, God can easily overthrow his plans. For example, Jesus easily healed a woman bound by Satan (Luke 13:11-16) and Jesus has commanded evil spirits – the minions of Satan – to leave at once. God can deter any plan of Satan as what we saw in the story of Job (Job 1).
5. Satan will finally be defeated in the end
According to revelation, Satan will be bounded for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-3) and will eventually be cast in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). This is the ultimate destiny of Satan. This will be his punishment for rebelling against God and causing many people to suffer. He does not want you to know this because he wants to cause as many people as he can to not be part of God’s family.
Final Words
When Satan will be cast away, we will have lasting peace. Then, “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (Revelation 21:4).
