“Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good” (Romans 7:12).

In this world where people are taught that commandment-keeping should be ignored as long as “we accept God and Jesus as our Savior”, the attack against God’s laws is increasing. Should we do the same thing as a Christian?

Keep the commandments of God for a more fulfilled life.

Keep the commandments of God for a more fulfilled life.

I find it very amazing how people would easily dismiss God’s laws, statutes, and commandments just to have it their own way. They often quote Paul as the champion of abolishing God’s law and would use his letters to support to their claim that we live under grace and commandment keeping is not anymore needed.

Before anything else, I want to set the record straight: No amount of commandment-keeping will make us worthy to receive salvation and eternal life. It is through God’s grace and the life of Jesus Christ that we are saved. Salvation is not earned, but it is a gift from God. In the same case, we cannot be saved without keeping the commandments.

Most people do not have a problem with keeping the laws and ordinances of men. But when it comes to God, they are quick to say that the law is nailed to the cross; that we are not part of the old covenant anymore; that Jesus fulfilled the law for us. Sad to say, this was never the teaching of the Bible. (I can discuss this further when I have the time).

Take the Ten Commandments for example. As long as the commandment is for their benefit, they will keep that. They will keep the “thou shalt not steal” commandment. Hey, don’t steal that, the Bible say thou shall not steal. Hey don’t kill because it is bad according to God. But when it comes to the Sabbath – we are not to keep the Sabbath, that’s for the Jews! Why the dichotomy?? Why there’s double standard?? Why do we just pick what we like to keep and disregard the rest?? Isn’t that showing partiality? Is God pleased with this type of attitude??

The Benefits of Keeping God’s Commandments

There are tremendous, exponential, marvelous, wonderful and fant

astic benefits that come with keeping the commandments. When you keep the commandments, you will live happier and blessed. When you keep the food laws, you will be healthier. When you keep the Sabbath, you will have more time relationship with God and others.

Imagine a world where ALL PEOPLE will keep the Ten Commandments! Padlocks will never be needed anymore because no one will ever steal. No more divorce, because everyone will be faithful and committed in their marriage. NO MORE KILLINGS! Peace will finally come here on Earth. Everyone will have longer lives because everyone will honor their father and mother. In short, THIS WORLD WILL BE A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN!

What happens to a World who Forsook God’s Commandments?

Sadly, the ideal world brought about commandment-keeping is far from being real. In this world that generally reject God and His commandments, we are seeing a world full of danger, sadness, suffering, grieve, greed, famine, pestilence, war, and chaos. Instead of being ashamed of their sin, people parade their sin. Take for example homosexuality, divorce, abortion, idolatry, and many others. People are actually proud committing these sins!

The Bible defines God’s love as keeping His commandments and His COMMANDMENTS are not burdensome (I John 5:3) as some people ignorantly assume. It is a demonic deception that plagues this world that says we are no longer required to keep the commandments of God.

Be different and stop being a friend of this World and instead, be part of God’s true people and children because at the end, MARK MY WORDS, it is only those Christians “who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ will be saved” (Revelation 12:17)!
