This is a Bible Study Guide that unveils one of the greatest end-time deceptions and will answer the question, “Who is the Antichrist?”
The Mystery That Grips the World
We’ve all heard the name.
The Antichrist.
But Who is the Antichrist?
It’s a word that stirs up fear, mystery, and even curiosity. You’ve seen him in movies. Read about him in novels. He’s often portrayed as a smooth-talking, power-hungry world leader ready to deceive the masses.
But let me ask you this, Do you really know who the Antichrist is?
What if I told you the truth is far more shocking than fiction? That the Antichrist might not be who you think—and that the spirit of the Antichrist might already be influencing people around you… even inside your own church?
Friend, it’s time to pull back the curtain. Let’s go straight to the Word of God and expose the truth.
The Meaning of the Word “Antichrist”
Let’s not guess. Let’s define.
The word “antichrist” comes from the Greek antichristos, which means against Christ or in place of Christ. It’s not just someone who hates Christ, but someone who seeks to replace Him—subtly, deceptively.
The Apostle John puts it plainly:
“Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.”
—1 John 2:22 (NKJV)
The Antichrist is not just an open enemy. He could come clothed in religion. He could sound almost right. But just one thing is off—and that’s all it takes.
There’s More Than One
Most people picture a single Antichrist in the end times. And yes, the Bible speaks of the Antichrist.
But John shocks us when he writes:
“Even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.”
—1 John 2:18 (NKJV)
Yes. You read that right.
Many antichrists.
There’s a system. A spirit. A multitude of influencers working behind the scenes. And they don’t wear red capes or breathe fire. They’re teachers. Preachers. Influencers. Politicians. And sometimes… even “Christians.” This makes it difficult to really answer the question “Who is the Antichrist?”
The Antichrists Among Us—Yes, Even in the Church
Brace yourself.
The Antichrist isn’t just going to pop up in some faraway palace. He often starts in the church.
“They went out from us, but they were not of us.”
—1 John 2:19 (NKJV)
Think about that.
These weren’t atheists or witches. They were once in the fellowship. Once part of the body. Maybe even standing behind pulpits. But something changed.
They denied Christ—not always by their words, but by their doctrine, their compromise, their lifestyle.
This is not a call to suspicion. It’s a call to vigilance. Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” is sent by Yahweh.

The Spirit of Antichrist: A Subtle but Deadly Influence
Want to know how to detect the spirit of Antichrist?
It denies the humanity of Christ. It denies His authority. It rejects His law. It downplays obedience and grace turns into license.
“Every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist…”
—1 John 4:3 (NKJV)
This was the deception of Gnosticism—a teaching that claimed Jesus wasn’t really human. That He only appeared to be. And sadly, some churches today unknowingly echo this error.
They preach a Christ who was God, but not man. Powerful, but not temptable. Perfect, but never weak. But if Jesus didn’t fully come in the flesh, how could He fully represent us? How could He die for our sins?
This is more than a doctrine issue. This is a salvation issue. So, “Who is the Antichrist?”
The Man of Sin: A Deceptive Superpower
Now let’s talk about the man of sin—another powerful figure in end-time prophecy.
“The man of sin… opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God… showing himself that he is God.”
—2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NKJV)
Yes, a time is coming when a literal man will rise to global prominence. And he won’t just be political—he’ll be religious. Performing signs and wonders. Speaking lies so convincing they’ll “deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24).
It will be Satan’s masterpiece of deception. The world will applaud. Many churches will cheer. But the faithful? They will see through the disguise.
If we don’t cling to truth now, we won’t recognize the lie when it comes.

The False Prophet and the Beast System
In Revelation, we meet another beast—a false prophet. He looks like a lamb (like Christ) but speaks like a dragon (Satan).
“He performs great signs… and deceives those who dwell on the earth.”
—Revelation 13:13-14 (NKJV)
This religious figure will work hand-in-hand with the Beast—pushing global worship, enforcing the mark, and persecuting believers.
He is the Antichrist in religious robes. The wolf in sheep’s clothing. And millions will follow him thinking they’re following God.
That’s what makes this so dangerous.
The Ultimate Antichrist: Satan Himself
Behind every antichrist… is the Antichrist.
Satan.
“Your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
—1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)
He has always stood against Yahweh. He is the father of lies. He is the one behind every deception. And yes, he will possess the Beast and the False Prophet in the end.
But here’s the good news: Satan loses.
How to Overcome the Antichrist
We’re not helpless. In fact, God has given us everything we need to overcome.
The Bible says:
“… because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
—2 Thessalonians 2:10 (NKJV)
Here’s the key: Love the truth.
Don’t just know the truth. Love it. Cherish it. Obey it. Live it.
Stay close to Yahweh through prayer, obedience, and worship. Stay in the Word. Test every spirit. Reject compromise. And never forget…
“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
—1 John 4:4 (NKJV)
Who is the Antichrist: Standing Strong in a World of Deception
We live in dangerous times. Not just because of wars, rumors, or disasters.
But because the truth is under attack.
Friend, this isn’t a time to play church. It’s not a time to just believe what sounds good. It’s time to go deeper. Time to anchor yourself in the Word. Time to draw near to God like never before.
The Antichrist is real. His spirit is here. But so is the Spirit of God.
