Don’t Ever Stop in Preaching the Gospel

In this blog, let us take a moment to consider what God has commission us to do and what we are doing to fulfill His work here on earth.

Friends, we have seen how the pandemic has canceled a lot of things in this world. It has canceled flights, businesses, concerts, graduations, schoolings, sports, church activities, and so much more.

However, there’s one duty that the coronavirus pandemic hasn’t canceled and I’m afraid a lot of us have forgotten about it. Maybe because we have not really put much attention to this duty all along and the pandemic has just made it worse.

I, for one, would admit that I have been distracted.

I have always been so busy to the point I forget the most important work on this earth and sadly, the same is happening to a lot of Christians today.

Yes, the pandemic has canceled a lot of things, but it didn’t cancel our duty to preach the Gospel.

Making God’s work a top priority

How much of your day are you dedicating for the work of Yahweh? How much love, dedication, zeal, and passion do you have for the Gospel? Are you doing your part in preaching the coming Kingdom of God?

Because if not, then the words of the Apostle Paul should also ring true to us:

Woe is me if I don’t preach the Gospel (I Corinthians 9:16)!

Friends, I want us all to realize the importance of having God’s word to be put out there in the world. And I’m not saying any other God’s word, but God’s true word!

I remember this one particular personal experience that I have. While waiting for our son’s class to be finished, two people from one big religious group came to us.

They asked one of the mothers with us in the room, “Who is the Father of Jesus Christ?”

This mom doesn’t know the answer. After a few seconds of thinking, she said, Joseph

She later admitted that she doesn’t know that Christ has another Father – His real father!

I thought to myself, how many people are like this person.

How many people in this world don’t even know that Yahshua or Jesus Christ has a Father?

If a person can’t answer such a basic question, how much more would they not know other things about Yahweh, Yahshua, and the Bible!

It disappoints me to see how the truth is not being preached in the world. It saddens me to see basic Bible questions that are not being answered correctly on the Internet.

We have a duty to fulfill. This world is full of chaos, death, suffering, and pain. This world badly needs to hear the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God. This world needs the hope that the Gospel can only give. This world is dying and it is through us that we can give it even just a tiny glimpse of light.

Friends, LET US NOT COMMIT THE MISTAKE THAT PREACHING THE GOSPEL IS ONLY THE WORK OF THE MINISTERS.

This is the work of the Church. This is a group effort.

Matthew 24:45-47 tells us:

“Therefore, be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.”

Blessing has already been pronounced to those who will do the work of the Church. When Yahshua will finally come back here on earth, will He find us faithful servants preaching the Gospel? Or will we be too busy doing our own business that we forget what matters most during this lifetime?

Sowing the seed

The main goal of preaching the Gospel is not to convert people. I know, it can be so disheartening sometimes that we have done so much and the result might not be too evident.

But let us remember this one thing is true: we are NOT in the business of converting people.

That is God’s role.

That is His job.

It is not our job to convert. It has never been and will never be. John 6:44 tells us that it is God who calls people.

So, why do we need to preach the Gospel if it is God who will call people?

In preaching brethren, we are sowing the seed.

We pray to God to bless our effort, but it is up to God to give the increase.

Like a seed buried to the ground, we don’t instantly see its fruit. We don’t see whether it is alive or not, or whether it will take root or not.

But we have still been commissioned to preach the Gospel. Time will come that the seed we plant will sprout. If not in this life, it will be in the life to come.

And what’s more important, when we preach, it doesn’t just change the person listening to us.

It also changes us

Those who have grown spiritually in the church are the same people who are doing their part in preaching the Gospel.

So, if you don’t want to grow spiritually, continue in doing your own business.

Ignore the work of God.

Spend all your time on your work.

Spend all your time playing video games.

Spend all your time watching YouTube videos.

Spend your time scrolling through Facebook.

Go on.

Continue doing those things and you will eventually find yourself spiritually dead.

BUT…

If in case, you find it in your heart of hearts that you want to grow, that you want to experience the life-changing and transforming power of God’s Holy Spirit, then do His work.

Preach the Gospel and your life will never be the same again!

Let me close with this blog found in Isaiah 55:10-11:

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall NOT return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it

We are not in the church to simply warm our seats. The church is not a social club.

We are called to do a work and that work is the greatest and most important work on the face of this planet.

I hope you choose the better part.

Choose to preach the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God!
