I graduated as a nurse… but never became one

Hey friend,

I can’t believe I’m finally sharing this story with you.

I graduated as a nurse.
I even got my license.

But here’s the strange part… I never actually worked as a nurse.

Back in 2010, thousands of people in our country were taking up nursing because everyone wanted to go abroad. The problem? You couldn’t go overseas without experience. And to get experience here in the Philippines, you literally had to pay the hospital just to work for them.

Yes — you paid to work.

I needed to earn a living already, so I tried anything I could.

I worked as a fast food server.
In a sari-sari store.
As a real estate agent.
A swimming instructor.
Even as a jeepney conductor.

Basically, if there was a job available, I tried it.

Most of them didn’t last.
Some helped me survive.
None of them felt like the thing.

Then in 2011, I decided to try something unusual at the time: working online.

My first payment?
$0.50 per 500 words or per hour.

Not even enough for a proper meal.

But I stuck with it — not because of the money, but because of the freedom. I could work wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted. And for someone who wanted to serve God and share His Word, that flexibility meant everything.

So I kept going.

Over time, my rates increased.
I became a full-time online writer.

And fast forward to today… with AI changing everything, I get fewer writing projects now. So I shifted to virtual assistance, customer service, and video editing just to keep things going.

(Quick side note: if you ever need help with any of those, feel free to message me.)

But here’s the one thing that never changed:

Preaching and helping others grow in their Christian walk has always been my real passion.

I’ve been doing this for years — without corporate backing, without church salary, without sponsors. Just faithfully creating content and trusting God to supply through my website.

And He truly has.

That’s why I created something special for you.

I put together a free course called “How to Live a Victorious Life.”
It includes articles, videos, and podcasts — so no matter how you learn best, it’s there for you.

And if you’d like to partner with me in a deeper, more meaningful way, I also invite you to join our Patreon membership program. Your support helps me continue creating biblical content full-time.

As a thank you, you’ll get access to my full teaching library, including:

  1. How to Pray
  2. How to Raise Godly Children
  3. How to Manage Your Finances Biblically
  4. How to Read the Bible from Cover to Cover
  5. How to Hear God’s Voice
  6. How to Live a Victorious Life
  7. How to Form Godly Habits

And I’m constantly adding more.

I don’t really have a dramatic lesson here.

I just want to encourage you.

If God placed something in your heart — a calling, an idea, a nudge — don’t ignore it.

It might not make sense right now.
It might not pay much at first.
It might look uncertain.

But sometimes, the very thing that looks unstable is what God uses to build your future.

I’d love to walk with you in that journey.

– Joshua

P.S. You don’t need everything figured out. You just need to take the next faithful step… and not quit too early.
