Jesus didn’t mince words about the future.
He said plainly:
“Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
(Matthew 24:12)
Not some love.
Not a little love.
The love of many.
And if you open your eyes today, it’s hard to deny—we are witnessing that prophecy unfold in real time.
Violence has become normalized.
Cruelty is consumed as entertainment.
Truth is negotiable.
Morality is mocked.
In 2025 alone, the headlines were shocking yet familiar: record-breaking violence in major cities, brutal wars broadcast in real time, and social media flooded with hatred, mockery, and dehumanization. Things that would have once horrified society now barely raise an eyebrow.

Good is called evil.
Evil is celebrated as courage.
And anyone standing for truth is labeled dangerous, hateful, or outdated.
This isn’t progress.
It’s moral collapse.
Paul warned us about this time. He wrote:
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient, unthankful, unholy.”
(2 Timothy 3:1–2)
And if you look around…
it’s everywhere.
But here’s the part that makes this moment truly dangerous: it’s not just sin itself.
It’s the absence of guilt.
People no longer feel the weight of right and wrong.
Conscience is silenced.
Shame is mocked.
Repentance is ridiculed.
When hearts grow cold, destruction follows.
Paul explains why in Romans 1: humanity eventually reaches a point where God “gives them over” to their own desires—not as punishment, but as natural consequence. A society left to follow its impulses ultimately destroys itself.
And we are watching this accelerate before our eyes.
In 2026 and beyond, this moral decay will not slow—it will intensify.
Because when a culture rejects truth, it doesn’t drift toward neutrality… it drifts toward darkness.
Yet even in this dark moment, there is a warning wrapped in mercy.
Jesus didn’t describe these signs to terrify us.
He described them so that we could recognize the times, stay alert, and choose wisely.
So when love grows cold around us,
ours must grow stronger.
When the world celebrates what is wrong,
we must cling to what is right.
This is not a call to fear the darkness.
It’s a call to shine within it.
Because when the world grows darker,
light becomes impossible to ignore.
