Let’s take a moment and go back to the very beginning—back to the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had everything. They had God’s presence. They had God’s provision. They had God’s clear instructions. Nothing was confusing. Nothing was lacking. Nothing was unfair.
And yet… everything changed with a single whisper.
It wasn’t the fruit that brought them down. It wasn’t even the temptation itself.
It was the voice they chose to listen to.
And friend, that’s where the real battle still is today.
Before we dive deeper, I want to quickly invite you to grab something that will help you tremendously in your walk with God. I created a free checklist called “7 Questions to Know If God Is Speaking to You.” It’s a simple self-assessment that helps you recognize God’s voice with clarity. Now, let’s continue.
When Satan spoke to Adam and Eve, his tone wasn’t loud or threatening. It was subtle. Soft. Reasonable. Almost friendly. But behind that soft voice was a deadly intention.
And here’s the thing:
His tactics haven’t changed at all.
Satan still plants seeds of doubt: “Did God really say that? Is that really wrong? Are you sure the Bible means that?”
He still twists Scripture just enough to make you question the truth.
He still tries to portray God as strict, stingy, or unfair.
And he still magnifies what you don’t have—your limitations, your weaknesses, your frustrations—while blinding you to what God has already blessed you with.
Just think about it.
Adam and Eve were surrounded by abundance, yet Satan made them focus on the one thing they didn’t have.
And he does the same thing to us.
He whispers:
“You’re not enough.”
“You’re missing out.”
“God is holding something back from you.”
“Everyone else is blessed except you.”
“Just do what feels right—you deserve it.”
These whispers don’t sound evil. They sound convincing. They sound logical. They sound… tempting.
But behind every lie is a trap.
And behind every trap is destruction.
That’s why this topic is more than an old Bible story—it’s a warning. A wake-up call. A spiritual reality we face every single day.
Every morning when you wake up, you’re choosing which voice you will follow.
Every decision you make—big or small—is influenced by one of two voices.
One voice leads to deception, destruction, and eventually death.
The other leads to truth, peace, blessing, and life.
God still speaks. Clearly. Gently. Consistently.
Through His Word. Through His Spirit. Through His people.
But Satan still whispers.
Through lies. Through temptations. Through distorted truths.
And sometimes, even through our own fears and emotions.
Two voices.
Two paths.
Two outcomes.
Adam and Eve listened to Satan… and it cost them everything.
Will you?
Or will you choose God’s voice—the voice that leads to healing, freedom, and life?
If you want to go deeper in this topic, I created an eye-opening online course called “How to Hear God’s Voice.” Inside, you’ll find engaging videos, podcasts, and articles designed to help you understand how God speaks—and how to distinguish His voice from Satan’s voice and even your own.
