Everyone prays for blessings. We ask God to open doors, expand our influence, and answer our biggest prayers. But few realize this truth: before God blesses you, He tests you.
And the test is almost never big. It’s small.
God watches how you handle the little things before He entrusts you with greater ones. “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much” (Luke 16:10, NKJV). We want the platform, but God is watching how we serve in private. We want miracles, but He’s watching how we trust Him in the mundane.
Think of David. Before he ever faced Goliath, he was faithfully tending sheep. That’s not glamorous work—it’s lonely, quiet, unseen. But it was in those hidden fields where God saw his heart. Faithfulness in the pasture prepared him for victory on the battlefield.
We often pray, “Lord, use me!” But God might be whispering back, “Be faithful where you are first.”
Your small obedience today could be the very thing positioning you for tomorrow’s breakthrough.

Back to the truth: God is watching what no one else sees.
He sees when you choose honesty even when lying would be easier. He sees when you give even when it stretches your budget. He sees when you forgive the person who hurt you, when you show up early to serve, when you open your Bible even though you’re tired.
Those aren’t small to Him—they’re sacred.
The world celebrates outcomes, but God celebrates obedience. The outcome is His responsibility; obedience is yours. And when you’re faithful in the little, He can trust you with more.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Your small acts of obedience are seeds of future harvests.
So, keep going. Keep serving. Keep trusting. You may not see the reward yet, but God is keeping score in eternity.
