Quick Answer: The Bible doesn’t specifically mention Pride Month, but it speaks clearly about pride and sexual immorality. God calls pride a sin that leads to destruction (Proverbs 16:18) and commands believers to humble themselves and submit to His truth—not personal desires or cultural trends.
While the world celebrates Pride Month as an affirmation of LGBTQ+ identities, Scripture teaches that true identity is found in Christ and that all sexual immorality, including homosexual behavior, is sin (1 Corinthians 6:9–10). Yet the Bible also offers hope: through repentance and faith in Yahshua (Jesus), anyone can be washed, sanctified, and made new (1 Corinthians 6:11).
Hey friend,
Let’s talk about something that’s been lighting up headlines, stirring emotions, and splitting opinions—even among believers.
Pride Month.
Now, I know even just saying that can make some people uncomfortable. Others get defensive. And many Christians—maybe even you—are torn between wanting to stand for truth and wanting to love like Christ.
So let’s pause. Breathe. No yelling. No canceling. Just an honest, heartfelt conversation between us.
I’m not here to throw stones. I’m here to shine a light.
And that light? It’s the unshakable, unchanging Word of God.

Pride: It’s More Than a Flag
Let’s get to the root of the matter.
Before Pride Month ever became a cultural celebration of the LGBTQ+ lifestyle, pride was already addressed—very directly—in the Bible.
And spoiler alert: it wasn’t in a good light.
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
— Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV)
God doesn’t just mildly dislike pride.
He hates it.
“These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look…”
— Proverbs 6:16–17 (NKJV)
Why is pride so dangerous? Because it blinds us. It elevates self over God. It says, “I decide what’s right. I define my truth. I determine who I am.”
Sound familiar?
It should. That’s the heartbeat of our modern world. And it’s the core of Pride Month.
But Isn’t God All About Love?
Absolutely. And it’s because He is love that we need to talk about this. Real love doesn’t keep quiet when people are walking toward destruction.
Imagine you saw someone dancing on the edge of a cliff, blindfolded. Would you clap and cheer them on because they seem happy?
Or would you call out—maybe even with tears in your voice—because you love them too much to stay silent?
Love tells the truth. Even when it hurts.
“Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”
— Proverbs 27:6 (NKJV)
Let’s Be Clear: The Bible Doesn’t Whisper
There’s a narrative going around that Jesus never spoke about homosexuality, so it must not be a big deal.
But that’s not true.
Jesus affirmed marriage as between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4–6). He spoke of sexual sin (porneia in Greek, which includes all sexual immorality) and called people to repentance.
And Paul? He didn’t hold back:
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites… will inherit the kingdom of God.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (NKJV)
But don’t stop reading there.
Because Paul follows up with one of the most hope-filled, grace-drenched verses in the whole Bible:
“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:11 (NKJV)
Did you catch that?
“Such were some of you.”
That means change is possible. Redemption is real. Freedom is available.

Pride vs. Humility: A Heart Issue
Here’s the deeper issue: Pride Month doesn’t just celebrate identity. It celebrates the refusal to surrender identity to Christ.
It’s saying, “I won’t bow.”
“I won’t repent.”
“I won’t change.”
But the gospel calls us all—yes, all of us—to do just that.
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.’”
— Matthew 16:24 (NKJV)
That includes every straight, gay, rich, poor, religious, and rebellious person on earth.
We all have to lay something down.
This Isn’t About Hate. It’s About Holiness.
Let me be clear: If you’re struggling with same-sex attraction, or if you’ve identified as LGBTQ+, you’re not beyond God’s love. You’re not disqualified. You’re not too far gone.
You’re deeply loved.
But God’s love never leaves us the same.
Jesus didn’t tell the woman caught in adultery, “It’s okay, live your truth.”
He said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.” (John 8:11)
He offered grace and truth. And we must do the same.
What Should Christians Do During Pride Month?
You might feel overwhelmed during Pride Month. You might feel alone.
But friend, this is the time to stand—not with signs of hate, but with hearts of holiness.
Here’s what you can do:
- Pray. For those in the LGBTQ+ community. For their healing, their identity, their salvation. Don’t just protest. Intercede.
- Speak up. Don’t water down the truth to be liked. Don’t distort Scripture to be accepted. Be bold and compassionate.
- Check your own heart. Pride isn’t just about sexual sin. It sneaks into all our lives. Humble yourself before God.
- Love radically. Not with empty acceptance, but with gospel-centered, sacrificial, truth-telling love. That’s what Yahshua did for us.

Pride Month: Don’t Be Afraid to Be Different
You will be mocked. Misunderstood. Maybe even hated.
But you won’t be alone.
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.”
— John 15:18 (NKJV)
This isn’t the time to blend in. This is the time to shine like lights in a dark world.
Truth without love is harsh.
Love without truth is hollow.
But truth spoken in love? That’s powerful. That’s Christlike. That’s what changes lives.
Let’s not trade eternal truth for temporary applause.
Let’s not celebrate what God mourns.
Let’s stand in truth. Speak with grace. Love like Jesus.
And if you’ve read this far, maybe the Spirit is stirring something in you.
Don’t ignore it.
Let’s walk in truth, together.
Your friend in Christ,
Joshua
