Most “professing” Christians will easily dismiss the idea that Christians today need to keep the commandments of God. The primary reason they will tell you is “Law-keeping will not earn your Salvation”.
While this statement is true and I absolutely agree with it, does this free us from keeping the commandments of God?
This question needs a serious look. After all, if we are really free from any law, would it mean that we can all just go our way and be a “Christian” according to our own standards?
Surprisingly, there are many indications in the Bible, especially in the New Testament, that commandment keeping is still reinforced and should be observed by true and genuine Christians today.
In this post, let us go to the Book of Revelation and see what it says about commandment keeping. Here are 3 key scriptures from the book that reveals a lot about the characteristic of the end-time Church.
Scripture #1
Revelation 12:17 – And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Scripture #2
Revelation 14:12 – Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Scripture #3
Revelation 22:14 – Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
With these three verses from the Book of Revelation, it is very clear that one of the signs of God’s people is COMMANDMENT-KEEPING. This does not sound like the commandments of God being nailed to the cross.
Those people who keeps on harping that the commandments are part of the Old Testament, should consider these verses. Most certainly, the Book of Revelation is found in the NEW Testament.
The truth is plain, simple, and VERY OBVIOUS. If you want to be considered as a Christian in God’s eyes, you need to keep the commandments. Anyone can call a dog a cat, but that does not change the cat. A cat is always a cat. The same with Christianity; you can call a false belief Christian, but it is still false in God’s eyes.
Yes, certainly, no amount of commandment-keeping will earn you salvation. Nevertheless, it is also true that commandment-keeping is required by God.

And we should ask ourselves why the Lord said “Remember the Sabbath Day, “it is because He knew we would forget to keep the day holy. As Christians, we should continue keeping the Sabbath holy.

Hi Daisy!
Personally, I believe the name of our Savior is Yahshua but I’m sure it’s not Jesus.

So is the Apostle Paul one of those people “harping” on about Christians not needing to keep the law? “Now that faith has come we are no longer under the supervision of the law.” – Galatians 3:25
The “commandments of God” does not mean Moses’ law! Christ has given us many commandments. The NT and the Holy Spirit give us God’s commandments.

The only laws that changed of Moses was the Ceremonial priest laws and the sacrificial laws is where you can read and find in the book of Hebrews the SON of YAH has forfilled but the rest of the laws in the old Testament is still infect. To understand what Paul was saying in Galatians 3:35 was that HE was speaking of “man made laws”! remember Paul was a Pharisee and had teachings of Judaism and he considered Judaism laws as man made laws meaning “sin” in following man’s laws instead of YAH’S commandments its hard to understand Paul if your not guided by the FATHER’S spirit and you can read this in 2 peter 3:15-16. Made this message hopefully be helpful.
