Today’s reading: 1 Corinthians 15:3-8

The proof of Christ’s resurrection

We read in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8:

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.

A lot has been said to discredit the resurrection of Yahshua. Even right after His resurrection, the religious leaders quickly came up with a lie to counter the claim of His disciples that Christ has truly risen.

We don’t believe in Yahshua’s resurrection simply because of blind faith. We have historical evidence and testimonies that support the claim of resurrection.

Paul listed the eyewitnesses who have personally seen the resurrected Yahshua. He wrote specific names, which made the resurrection more credible. After all, if Paul was lying, one can easily approach any of these people and confirm.

What’s so amazing about this is that Yahshua was seen by over five hundred brethren at once! Some skeptics suggest that people who saw Yahshua were just hallucinating. However, people can’t have shared hallucinations all at the same time!

The resurrection is absolutely a “game-changer.” Of all the leaders of the religions of this world, it is only Yahshua who was risen from the grave. All others are still in their graves, waiting to be resurrected.

Because Christ was resurrected and proved who He claimed to be, then this should stop us from our tracks and consider the teachings of the Messiah. Since the resurrection is true, then we have one true religion and that’s the religion of following Christ and doing God’s commandment!

With this in mind, we ought to live according to the will of the Almighty and follow the examples of His Son, Yahshua the Messiah. This should be our life’s greatest work!
