An update on my Mama’s Health

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share an update about my mama’s condition. As some of you may know from my previous blog post, she has been battling edema in both legs for several months now. Regrettably, this condition took a turn for the worse recently when she developed cellulitis, leading to her hospitalization. Additionally, a tumor-like growth appeared on her shoulders, adding to our concerns.

After ten days in the hospital, I am relieved to report that she has been discharged. We are grateful because, as you know, hospital bills can quickly add up with each passing day.

Initially, we hoped she would only need to stay for 5 to 7 days. However, the antibiotics prescribed by the doctor weren’t as effective as we had hoped. Thankfully, after adjusting her medication and dosage, we began to see improvement. The redness on her right leg has started to decrease, a sign that the new treatment is working better.

The doctor also conducted tests to determine the cause of the edema in her legs. Through a doppler ultrasound, it was discovered that her veins were partially blocked, preventing fluid from flowing back to her heart properly. This backflow results in fluid pooling, leading to edema. The doctor prescribed medication to address this issue.

While we are grateful for the progress we’ve seen, Mama is not completely out of the woods yet. The doctor has recommended surgical removal of the tumor on her back, and she will need to continue her vein medication.

This is mama after getting out of the hospital:

We trust that God has His plan and we believe in His healing power. Although Mama is back home, we continue to rely on God’s faithfulness in helping His people.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who have prayed for Mama and offered financial support during this challenging time. Your kindness and generosity have not gone unnoticed, and I believe that God sees your efforts and will bless you according to His bounty. You never know how much your help has made our burden bearable and made lighter.

Please continue to keep Mama in your prayers, and once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Warm regards,
Joshua
