A life that gives you every reason to smile even in the midst of difficulties.

Many of us would immediately say, yes!

Sadly, not every one of us knows how.

The problem is that a lot of people are looking for the right answers in the wrong places.

The Bible tells us:

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

So, if you want to live, you need to turn to the Book of books.

No. 1: Study the Word of God

The Word of the Almighty is the foundation of all truths, knowledge, and wisdom.

The Bible is the Book of books that serves as an instruction manual for us how to live this life.

God didn’t leave us blind to grope in the dark.

He gave us the Bible for us to learn how to live this life according to His will and purpose.

The Bible tells us:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be COMPLETE, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

So, if you want to have a fulfilling life, you need to read the Bible.

No. 2: Preach the Gospel

We need to be about our Father’s business.

This was the main focus of Yahshua (Jesus Christ) when He was here on earth.

We read in John 4:34:

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34).

As you can see, Christ’s main source of nourishment is by doing God’s work.

It has been His greatest passion from the start.

In the same manner, this should also be our top priority in life.

When we make preaching the Gospel as our mission, it gives us a sense of direction.

It helps us to do a work that is greater than ourselves.

It gives us purpose and in the end, it leads to a more fulfilling life.

No. 3: Be Generous

A lot of people think that the best way to be happy and have a more fulfilling life is to get what they want.

However, in most cases, physical possessions only bring short-lived happiness.

The best way to be happy and have a fulfilling life is to give.

The Bible tells us:

“It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

No. 4: Be Thankful

You can’t have a fulfilling life if you are not thankful.

There’s no escaping this fact. If you really want to be happy in your life, you should be more thankful.

Instead of complaining and murmuring, be thankful for the things that you have and even the things that you don’t have.

Appreciate what God has given you and make the most out of them.

Being thankful reminds you that life is still beautiful even if it comes with a lot of difficulties.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 tells us:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

No. 5: Invest in Your Relationship with God

The most important relationship you should have is your relationship with your Heavenly Father. A fulfilling life demands that you should never neglect your spiritual relationship.

Like any relationship, you can only nurture and strengthen your relationship with the Almighty by spending time with Him through prayer, Bible study, meditation, and fasting.

Yahshua (Jesus Christ) told us:

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:37-38).

For Christ, it is our number one duty to love God above all else.

You can never have a truly fulfilling life without a strong relationship with your Creator.

No. 6: Invest in Your Relationship with others

After having a relationship with God, don’t forget your relationship with others as well.

That’s why, after telling His listeners to Love God, Yahshua proceeded to say:

“And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).

Our relationship with other people is also important and we must invest in it. There are things in this life that material possessions can’t give you. Even if you are successful but in the process loses your relationship with others, you still end up empty.

In the end, it is not your possession that will help you have a fulfilling life. It is the people you loved and those who love you.

No. 7: Use Your Time Wisely

Your time is your life and your life is your time. How you spend your time determines whether you will have a fulfilling life or not.

That’s why you can’t expect to live a fulfilling life if you are wasting your time. The Bible tells us:

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16).

So, how are you using your time? Are you using it wisely or are you wasting it on things that don’t help you grow?

If you want to know more about the value of time, read, “The Priceless Value of Time.”

No. 8: Be healthy

They say health is wealth and that is true.

We all have one body and we only get one chance to take care of it.

Living a fulfilling life means you are able to enjoy life because you are healthy. Of course, I’m not saying that if you are unhealthy or you have a debilitating disease you won’t be able to enjoy life anymore.

Far from it. I’ve known people who have lived a blessed and happy life even if they have physical infirmities.

However, my point is that being healthy allows you to do things that you can enjoy. It is difficult to enjoy life if you are bedridden or sick all the time.

In fact, God wants us to be healthy and He expects us to do our part in keeping our body healthy.

We read:

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Since we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should take care of this temple.

We need to respect, love, and nourish it.

No. 9: Follow the Commandments of God

A lot of people think that they can achieve a fulfilling and happy life by doing their own thing. In reality, living this life without following the commandments of God leads to disasters.

You can’t expect to have a fulfilling life while breaking God’s commandments at the same time. It is sad that so many people think that God’s commandments are there to control us and restrict our freedom.

On the contrary, God’s commandments are NOT burdensome. In fact, they represent God’s love and His will for us. We read:

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3).

God wants the best for us and the way to do that is to keep His commandments. He perfectly knows what’s good for us and He gave us His commandments so that we know how to fulfill His purpose.

In effect, God’s commandments are His guide that leads to a more fulfilling, blessed, and happy life.

No. 10: Accept the Harsh Truths in Life

Life is unfair.

Life is difficult.

Life comes with pain.

Life comes with unexpected events that can strike you down.

There’s no other way to live life than accept its harsh truths.

Yes, life is unfair, but what are you going to do about it?

Deny it?

Accept it?

Denying life’s uncertainties won’t change anything.

But when you accept them, you take the first step of changing yourself.

When you accept these harsh truths in life, you’ll soon not just the problem, but also the solution.

In line to this point, I would like you to read the 7 Biblical Harsh Truths You Need to Accept to Become a Better Christian.

Once you learn these harsh truths and how to deal with them, you will surely have a better chance of living a fulfilling life.

Go and have a fulfilling life!

These are just some of the best ways for you to have a fulfilling life according to the Bible.

Now, knowing these principles is only the beginning.

You have to apply them so you would reap their benefits.

By following these principles, you are on your way to having a more inspiring, extraordinary, and fulfilling life!
