Scripture for the Day: Be at rest with God

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (I Peter 5:7).

Do you feel overwhelmed with all your problems in life? Do you sometimes want to throw your hands up and say, “I give up!”? We all do once in a while in our daily Christian walk. But thankfully we have our Father in heaven who is willing to take our cares and make them His own.

In I Peter 5:7, God tells us to cast ALL our cares to Him. Not just a few of our cares. Not just one or two, but He said ALL – no exemption. The Apostle Peter knows that the Christian walk is guided by the path less taken. Our walk must be in the difficult and narrow road.

No one ever said that it will be easy, but we have our almighty Father who cares enough for us that even our very hair is numbered. Have you tried to count your hair? God knows how many your hair is and not even one hair falls without His knowledge. God is so concern that even the minutest details of our life He takes notice.

So the next time you feel like defeated; you lost your friends, family members, and loved ones; a difficult health trial; a difficult task ahead of us; we are in the brink of falling apart; we are about to lose strength, faith and trust; or simply you just want to talk to; God tells us to cast ALL our care upon Him, for he cares for you. What a tremendous comfort we have in our almighty Father. What more comfort do you need when the supreme and omnipotent Creator of the universe is looking after you? My friend, I Peter 5:7 is more than a promise but it is a command. God commands us to give up all we have in His loving hand and He will let us ride on the eagle’s wing. Everyone might start to forsake you but God will never forsake you.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and you will never be moved. So stop worrying and start trusting!
