Have you ever wondered why some people are healed while others are not
0:06
While we can't know the answer to every situation, the Bible tells us that there's one possible
0:11
reason that keeps people from getting healed even if they have prayed about it
0:18
To help us get a deeper understanding, let's read about the lame man whom Jesus Christ
0:23
properly known as Yahshua, healed. John 5 verses 1 to 9 tells us. After this, there was a feast
0:29
of the Jews and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the ship gate a pool
0:36
which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In this lay a great multitude of sick
0:42
people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down
0:49
at a certain time into the pool and steered up the water. Then whoever stepped in first after the steering
0:56
the water was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had infirmity, 38 years
1:05
When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time
1:10
he said to him, Do you want to be made well The sick man answered him Sir I have no man to put me into the pool when the water steered up but while I am coming another steps down before me Now Jesus said to him
1:28
Rise, take up your bed and walk. And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed and walked
1:35
Now, I want you to notice the question of our Savior here. He asked the layman
1:40
do you want to be made well? Why on earth would Christ ask that question
1:47
Isn't the answer obvious? Surely everyone wants to get healed, including the lame man, right
1:54
Well, remember, Jesus is a discerner of the heart. He knows our intentions, our thoughts, and our motives
2:01
He knows exactly what we're thinking and feeling. Therefore, Yeshua knew very well that there's something missing in this man
2:09
So we ask, do you want to get healed? Now, notice this
2:14
The answer of the lame man reveals what's truly in his heart
2:18
Instead of answering the question they're sounding yes, he answered with an excuse
2:24
In essence, he's saying that yes, he wants to get healed, but there's no people here who are willing to help me
2:32
Did you see that Instead of looking unto Christ the great healer he looked at other people He focused on what other people could do and couldn do for him
2:44
From this story, we can see that sometimes we might say that we want to get healed
2:49
but the truth is that our actions don't match with what we are saying
2:55
We want to be healthy, yet we don't take care of our bodies
2:59
We want to be strong, yet we eat unhealthy. food and drink toxic drinks. We want to improve our well-being, yet we don't give our bodies
3:09
and minds enough rest. This encounter with Joshua or Jesus serves as a poignant reminder
3:16
of the importance of genuine desire and personal accountability in the journey toward healing
3:24
and wholeness. It challenges us to examine our hearts and motivations, ensuring that our
3:30
professed desires for change are met with corresponding actions. As we reflect on the healing of the
3:38
lame man at the pull of Bethesda, may we heed the call to cultivate a sincere longing for
3:45
transformation one that transcends mere words and permeates every aspect of our being Let us cast aside excuses and embrace the empowering truth the true healing begins with a willing heart and a resolute spirit
4:03
That's it for me. I hope you now have a better understanding of what the Bible says about healing
