Today I would like to share with you some of the most interesting
0:04
And I would say little known lessons from the past over. I would say that some of you might be, this would be the first time that you'll hear these lessons
0:14
Some of you might have heard this before, but it hasn't been really expounded yet
0:19
And so that's why I want us to look into the past over
0:23
And by looking to these lessons, you are going to have a deeper understanding and appreciation
0:30
of the sacrifice that Yeshua has done for us. So this is going to be a review
0:36
We are going to, we're going to ride into a so-called time machine
0:42
And we're going back 2,000 years ago. And we're going back to the time
0:47
which is, I would say, the first Passover of Israelites, which is found in Exodus 12
0:55
Let's go there, brethren. So let me just jump right. into the points here so that we could cover a lot of points
1:08
So let's go. Exodus 12, verse 1. These are very interesting points that I would like to share with you
1:15
So I hope that you are ready. Verse 1. Now Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying
1:23
this month shall be your beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you
1:29
So this is my first lesson, brethren. The Passover signifies a new beginning
1:39
The Passover signifies a new beginning. You know what, brethren? This is very interesting because you could see that the timing of our father, Yao, is so great
1:51
I'm just so amazed at how he orchestrated all this. He could have chosen any month of the day
1:59
year but it chose the first month and what he's about to do in the life the
2:06
Israelites is so dramatically life changing that it would also affect the way
2:12
they reckon time you see I did a little research here and I just look into the
2:19
history and I asked when do the Asian Egyptians usually start their year and I
2:27
saw that it's about around July but they are going to change the way they are going to reckon time and Yahweh is
2:36
telling them that okay I'm going to do something new here and along with that I
2:42
want you to mark this month as the beginning you know what brethren this is
2:48
going to be life-changing because this is going not just to not just going to
2:54
change the way they reckon time but it's going to change their lives you
2:59
You see, brethren, the Israelites have spent centuries in Egypt as slaves
3:06
And now, Yahweh is going to do something new. And he chose this month, the first month of the year, to be the day or the time that they're going to have a new beginning
3:21
In the same manner, brethren, did you know that the pass over also gave us a new beginning
3:27
Have you ever realized that, President? That all the sins that you committed in the past
3:34
in my personal life, I could see that I have done a lot of sins
3:41
I have committed a lot of sins, I have broke God's commandments, I have dishonored my parents, I have idols in my life
3:48
I have committed adultery by lasting towards different women, I stole something, all those things
3:57
And yet, when the past over came, I have been given a new clean slate
4:05
I can now have, I could now turn back from my wicked ways, and I have a new beginning
4:13
And that's how wonderful the Passover is, because a past over is giving you a new beginning
4:20
That's the first point, brethren. So let's continue here. You speak to all the congregation of Israel on the 10th of the 10th of the people
4:27
This month, every man shall take for himself a lamb according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household
4:36
This is my second point, brethren. We must cherish the lamb. We must cherish the lamb
4:43
Did you notice something weird here, brethren? Not really weird, but this is very unusual
4:49
The Passover is on the 14th day right and yet in the Bible it says that on the 10th day you should already have your lamb
5:02
Why? Why would God tell us that, or the Israelites, to have the lamb already prepared on the 10th day
5:12
Why not just, oh, we can wait until 14th day, or perhaps certain day
5:16
Why did God's, why did he command? the israelized so have it in 10th day
5:24
You see, brethren, if you have experience, taking care of livestock, perhaps poultry
5:31
you see, when you take care of them, you build a connection
5:36
Recently, we took care of six, not six, four cute, cute chicks
5:44
They are not really cute when they grow up, but they are actually
5:48
I've grown attached to them. because every morning I would greet them good morning chickens and I will feed them
5:56
and they are very excited they would follow me around the house and even inside
6:01
the house they would go inside so they become part of the family even my wife
6:07
said that didn't know not to know judge kui loo-man and yet we have to kill them and so I
6:15
did not kill them I hired someone to do it because I really can
6:21
with their innocent eyes. I can't make myself to slit their neck
6:27
So I let other people do it. But you could just see here that on this day, on the 10th day
6:34
they already have the lamb. And so as they're feeding the lamb, they're serving water
6:38
they are beginning to create a connection to the lamb. And I think Yahweh, the father, is trying to teach this
6:48
She likes that the lamp is something preempt. This is that something that, oh, just a basta, just now, patay we're just
6:55
lamb there. No. He wants us to somehow feel at certain degree that this lamp is precious
7:02
It is something that the sacrifice is not simply just ordinary. Actually, we are redeemed with the precious blood of Yeshua
7:14
And he didn't just die. He didn't just die by firing squad
7:19
he didn't just die by Garote I remember watching Gombursa I hope that you have also watched that
7:27
it's very nice movie and he didn't just die by hanging but yet
7:32
he has died the very gruesome and the most excruciating death that we could ever imagine
7:39
that's why we must cherish the lamb and look at this here brethren so
7:48
that's the second second lesson brethren we must cherish the lamb so let's proceed here in verse
7:57
verse 5 your lamb shall be without blemish a male of the first year so this
8:06
this represents or foreshadowed the perfect sacrifice of our Savior Yeshua and then
8:12
let's go to verse 7 let's go to verse 6 now you shall keep it until the 14th day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation
8:25
of Israel shall kill it at twilight. Verse 7. And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two
8:34
doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. So where are they going to put
8:43
the blood, brethren? It's on their doorposts. Have you ever wondered, brethren, why does it
8:49
have to be on the doorposts. Why does it be just on the windows perhaps or perhaps on the
8:56
pillar of the house? Maybe on the roof. They just sprinkled it in the roof and yet why does it
9:04
have to be on the door? Well, President, I would say because the door is the portal to our house
9:13
and every time you come in and out, coming in and out when you come in inside your house to
9:19
take refuge of the house, you're going out for work, you're going out to do something else
9:24
That blood on the doorpost reminds you of the sacrifice of Yeshua
9:31
Now, of course, by this time, the Israelites have already exited the land of Egypt
9:41
and they probably have not, they would not see it again, the blood and doorposts
9:46
But I did a little research here and the Jewish people today have what they call the Mizusa I don know if you have heard that the Mizusa The Mizusa is a sacred scroll and they put it on the right part of the door in their house
10:07
And they, in that sacred scroll, writes the Shuma, what they call the Shuma, which is the, O Israel
10:17
the Lord is one the Lord God the Shima is O Israel
10:25
God is Lord and the Lord is one you shall love the Lord your God
10:31
with all your soul with all your heart and with all your mind and the Jews see this
10:36
this Shema or this scroll every day every time they go in and out of the house
10:40
and this reminds them of the sacrifice of the pass over of this
10:45
what happened to them in the land of Egypt. And I believe this is also
10:50
this is something that we could also learn from as Christians. Every day in our lives
10:56
we must not remember, we must not forget the sacrifice that God has done for us
11:07
Right? Every time someone, someone has wronged you, you have been offended by other people
11:14
and someone tried to hurt you and then you want to have
11:20
ask forgiveness you should remember that God has already forgiven you and you should also extend that same
11:26
mercy to other people when you have that kind of mindset brethren when you always remember
11:34
the sacrifice that God has given us we would become more grateful because every
11:40
day of our lives is a new beginning every day is a reminder
11:46
that we don't just live for ourselves, but we have been redeemed
11:52
And so we are called to become a living sacrifice. So that is the lesson here
12:00
And if you go back to, if you go to verse 10, brethren, it says
12:06
you shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire
12:13
So this is referring to the land, the roasted lamb and it says that
12:18
you should not when you have the passover lamb there should be
12:24
none left and if there's anything left it should be burned this is teaching us brethren
12:30
that we when we accept Yeshua in our lives we should do
12:35
it wholeheartedly we cannot say now oh I will just get I would just
12:40
just 9 50% 50 50 50 that was 80% no you have to give your life to yahweh to joshua 100
12:50
and so here brethren this is mine and uh and uh verse 12 for i will pass through the land of
12:58
egypt on that night and will strike all the first born in the land of egypt both man
13:04
and beast and against all the gods of egypt i will execute judgment i am yahweh and this is
13:10
what i want us to look into brethren this is my third lesson
13:16
Death passed over. Okay? Death passed over us through the blood of Yeshua
13:24
You see, brethren, in verse 13 says, now the blood shall be assigned for you
13:29
on the houses where you are. What would be the sign, brethren
13:34
It would be the blood. So, when the destroyer would see there's a blood, there's blood
13:42
painted on the doorposts and He would pass over that house and the first boy in that house will not be killed
13:52
All right? So in the same manner, brethren, when we accept the passover, when we accept the sacrifice of Yeshua
14:02
we also gained that sign. And you know what, brethren? In the time of the exodus, they suffered physical death
14:11
but at this time brethren the wages of sin which is death
14:17
would be passed over we will be skipped no blood no blood no blood
14:25
oh my blood so we will not be killed so when Yahweh see that
14:31
we have that blood brother that we have accepted that just like in the time of the
14:37
Israelized in the land of Egypt we should that penalty of death
14:41
would also be passed over so that we will not be killed spiritually Now remember this brethren and want us to realize this Both the Egyptians and the Israelites are sinners
14:54
All of them actually are sinners. No one exempted everyone has seen
14:59
All right? Now remember this. All throughout the land of Egypt, there was death
15:08
even in the houses or in the place of the Israelites. The only difference, brethren, is that in the Egyptians, the ones who died are the first born
15:21
But in the land of the Israelites, the one who died is the lamb
15:27
Did you understand that, brethren? This tells us, brethren, that when we sin, it doesn't mean that you don't have to pay the price
15:35
There is still the wage or the penalty of sin. The question now is, sinong could be matine for us
15:43
Did you see that, brethren? And that past over lamb represented Yeshua
15:51
So instead of us dying, Yeshua died in our place. That is how rich the meaning of this past over, brethren
15:59
It doesn't mean that no one has to die. There has someone, there's someone to die for our place, brethren
16:06
And we are very thankful for the sacrifice of Yeshua. And for the final lesson here that I want to share with you
16:16
is found in Numbers 9, verse 7. This has to do with the second Passover
16:24
This has to do with the second Passover. Now, the second Passover is something that we don't really talk about always
16:29
because, of course, everyone of us, almost everyone, would take the Passover on the 14th day of the first month
16:37
but we don't even have the we don't even have the second Passover listed on our calendar
16:46
because this is something we don't really usually talk about but yet let's go here brethren and what is the lesson that we can learn from this day
16:54
in verse 7 and numbers 9 and those men said to him
16:59
we became defiled by a human corpse why are we kept from presenting the offering of Yahweh
17:05
at its appointed time among the children children of Israel. So there are people who are not able to partake of the passover because they
17:14
were defiled. And you can see here, brethren, that these people have the desire and the
17:20
willingness to take the pass over. It's just that there are things that are beyond the control
17:26
that they were not able to partake it. Okay? Did you understand that? In the same manner
17:31
brethren, all of us should have that the same desire, that the same willingness to partake of the
17:37
pass over. It doesn't we don't think of any excuse, um, it's too far, I cannot
17:43
do this, I'm too sick, I'm too, I'm too way to do this, but we must have
17:47
the desire. And what happens brethren? Because of this in verse 10 says, speak to
17:53
the children of Israel saying, if anyone of you or your posterity
17:57
is unclean because of a corpse or is far away on a journey
18:02
he may still keep the Lord's pass over on the 14th day, on
18:07
the second month at twilight they may keep it they shall eat it with 11 bread and
18:13
bitter herbs. Now you can see here brethren this is a manifestation or a proof
18:21
of God's mercy upon us. This is God's mercy upon us because
18:27
God is showing us that he doesn't want anyone to perish. He doesn't want anyone
18:33
to die spiritually and to die eternal He wants every one of us to be part of his kingdom
18:42
That's why he knows that we are human beings, we have weaknesses, we are frail, we are frail, we have limitations
18:49
And that's why he's giving this second Passover. And this is what God is telling us, I'm so merciful that I'm going to give you this chance
18:59
So, brethren, these are some of the interesting lessons that I want to share with you from the Passover
19:05
and I hope, brethren, that you are able to glean new understanding and better appreciation of the meaning of Passover
19:15
So as we partake of the Passover this coming Monday evening, brethren, may we all remember the lessons we learn today
