What does the Bible say about the law of God? Is it true that we, Christians, are no longer required to keep God’s law? Is the law a burden or a blessing? In this post, let us answer these questions with the 8 things the Bible say about the law of God.

A lot of Christians today strongly believe that since we are under the New Covenant, we are no longer required to keep the law of God. All you need is grace, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ or Yahshua, and just believe in Him and you’ll be saved.

However, is this what the Bible really teach about God’s law? Is it true that God’s laws are temporary, oppressive, and unrealistic that Christ came to abolish them through His valuable sacrifice?

We need to correct the negative notion and erroneous perception of Christians toward the Law of God. To do this, let me share with you how the Bible describes the law of God.

What is God’s law?

These are just some of the characteristics of the law of God. As you can see, the Bible is very clear how it described God’s law. It is never considered as oppressive and obsolete as many Christians believe.

Now, tell me, with all these attributes and traits, would you believe that God’s law has already passed away? Would you believe that Yahshua (Jesus Christ) came to the world to get rid of His Father’s law? Do you believe that the sacrifice of Yahshua freed us from the necessity to keep the law of God?

If the Law of God is good, holy, just, perfect, sure, right, pure, not burdensome, light, love, spiritual, and unchangeable, will God or Yahshua get rid of it?

Obviously, no!

In fact, here’s something you need to realize:

God’s laws reflect the character of God!

God is good, the law is good. God is holy, God is holy. God is just, the law is just, and so on.

The law of God perfectly shows us the very character of God!

As we can see, instead of abolishing the law of God in the New Covenant, it is no longer written in tablet of stones, but it is written in our hearts. Yahshua came to magnify the law, establish it, and expounded its spiritual application.

So, the next time people say that you don’t have to keep the law of God, then you can surely share these verses!
