Feeling stuck in a cycle of sin and repentance
0:03
You're not alone. Millions of Christians today struggle with the same sin
0:08
They genuinely repent of that sin, promising God that they will not do it again
0:14
and yet finding themselves doing and committing the same sins over and over again
0:22
So let me ask you these questions. What happens if you repent and sin again
0:28
Can you really be forgiven? multiple times for the same sin? Does God's patience have a breaking point where God will say
0:37
okay, that's it, I'm done. You're hopeless. Today, we're going to answer these questions
0:44
and help you better understand from the biblical perspective what repentance truly means
0:50
and the crucial role of God's grace in our struggle with sin. Does it sound good? If yes
0:56
watch this video from beginning to end. Hello everyone

1:19
Picture this. You've just had a moment of profound clarity. The weight of your wrongdoings bears heavily on your conscience
1:28
and you find yourself on your knees asking for divine forgiveness. Your eyes feeling a sense of liberation and renewed purpose
1:39
But then life happens. Temptation sneaks back in and despite your best intentions, you falter and sin again
1:48
It's a scenario familiar to many, echoing through the hearts of believers across centuries
1:54
So what happens next? Does God's mercy have a limit? Are repeated since a sign of spiritual failure
2:02
Or is there a deeper, more compassionate understanding within the pages of the Bible
2:08
Thankfully, the Word of God gives us the answer. And today, I would like us to answer these questions by sharing with you three points to consider
2:19
Number one, God forgives our sins. The Bible is clear that God, Yahweh the most
2:25
high is merciful. There are several verses to prove this but for the purpose of this
2:31
video let me just read Psalm 103 verse 8 to 12 The Lord or Yahweh is merciful and gracious slow to anger and abounding in mercy
2:44
He will not always strive with us, nor will he keep his anger forever
2:49
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities
2:56
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his mercy to walk
3:02
those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our
3:10
transgressions from us. Notice that God is not just merciful, but he is gracious. God
3:17
created us and thus he knows our frame. He knows how frail and weak we are. Thus
3:24
he understands our struggle with sin. Therefore, his mercy is unlimited. His mercy is
3:31
beyond human comprehension. He will readily forgive us when we repent of our sins. We read in
3:39
1.1 verse 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
3:49
from all unrighteousness. Remember Jesus Christ, or properly known as Yahshua, he died for
3:57
our sins. This means that we can come boldly to the throne of God
4:01
grace and ask for forgiveness of our sins. So therefore, what happens if you repent and sin again
4:10
Well, you need to ask for forgiveness once again. This leads us to the next point
4:16
Point number two, your repentance should be genuine. The Bible tells us that you can repent but surely don't mean it
4:26
We read in 2nd Corinthians 7 verse 10. For godly sorrow produces repentance
4:31
leading to salvation, not to be regretted, but the sorrow of the world produces death
4:40
So there's the Godi sorrow and the worldly sorrow. Godi sorrow leads to salvation while worldly sorrow leads to death
4:50
So what does this mean? God's sorrow is being sorry for your sins
4:55
It is having a heartfelt remorse for the sin you have done, knowing that you have sinned against God
5:01
God Because you are sorrowful over your sins you decide to turn away from the path of wickedness to the path of righteousness In short your repentance involves a change in direction Remember repentance came from the Greek word metanoia which means a change of mind
5:24
So there must be a change involved. On the other hand, R Expect this sorrow is simply you are sorry because of the consequences of the sin you have committed
5:39
It's like a criminal who is sorry simply because he was caught
5:45
A person who experienced worldly sorrow can repent but stop at just feeling sorry
5:53
He never sees the need to change. For God to forgive us, we need to have a godly sorrow, meaning its repentance coupled with
6:02
the will to change for the better. Point number three, Christians are
6:09
imperfect people. Here's what you need to understand. Even if you have God's sorrow and you have
6:15
genuinely repent of your sins, you would still sin and at times you will be committing the same sins
6:23
over and over again. Genuinely repenting of your sins doesn't mean that the temptation is
6:30
suddenly removed. It doesn't mean that you will never be tempted again. A Christian life is a struggle
6:37
We all know that. Even the Apostle Paul, someone we consider as a man of God
6:44
also experience the struggle against sin. We read in Romans 7 verse 15
6:50
For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do that I do not practice
6:58
But what I hate, that I do. So we can't deny that temptation will always be there
7:05
However, here's the thing. as long as you struggle against sin, it means that you are still fighting against that sin
7:14
This means that we want to change, we want to overcome sin, we want to grow in the grace and knowledge
7:21
or master's and savior, Yeshua, the Messiah, or Jesus Christ. As long as you struggle and you repent of your sins, God will forgive you
7:33
Now, the problem happens when we stop struggling. when we simply just give up and accept that we can't overcome sin
7:42
That the time when you will be in danger of God fire judgment We read in Hebrews 10 verses 26 to 27 If we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth there is no longer remains a sacrifice for sins but a certain
8:04
fearful expectation of judgment and fire indignation which will devour the adversaries
8:12
So there will come a time when we simply accept our sins, live in our own
8:16
our sins and don't want to change anymore. When that happens, when we don't repent and struggle
8:23
with our sins, then we are sinning willfully, meaning we know full well that what we are doing
8:31
is a sin and we consciously, deliberately, and intentionally commit that sin. When that happens
8:39
the Bible tells us that there is no longer a sacrifice that remains for our sins, but a
8:46
fearful expectation of judgment. In summary, God is merciful. He is gracious and he is kind
8:57
He's always ready to forgive us. He's ready to forgive us every sins that we have committed
9:03
and we have repented of. However, our repentance should be genuine, coupled with a commitment to do better
9:12
It's like running the Christian race. You may stumble every now and then
9:16
during the race, but as long as you continue running toward the kingdom of God, you will eventually
9:23
reach the finish line. Nevertheless, if you decide to stop running, then you will never cross
9:30
that finish line. So do your best to overcome sin. Repent when you have sinned again. Just
9:37
don't give up. The important thing is that you are making progress. Little by little
9:43
find yourself overcoming that stubborn sin. And don't forget, you can overcome because God
9:51
is with you. He is more than willing to help you in your struggle with sin. I hope this
9:59
discussion has deepened our understanding of what it really means to repent and sin again
